There is actually a scenario where you have a chance to fight an enemy cavalier if I remember right. But now that you mention it, that has to be one of the most underused classes for NPCs.

And I just meant that I don't usually like playing characters who can just destroy enemies like that and I actually didn't intend for Henry to be so vicious when I built him. I guess the Order of the Blue Rose tamps him down a bit because he has to waste a round for his challenge to work and the nonlethal damage can come back to bite you because it heals at the same time as normal damage.

But I know from experience it can be a bit of a drag when another player easily one-shots the enemy and leaves nothing else for the rest of the party. So that's what I meant when I apologized; I was just hoping I didn't ruin the encounter for anyone. I'm even debating giving up power attack on future charges or something, although I'm not sure that would make a huge difference. Maybe he can give up the lance and stick to Gamin the Misforged or something to tone things down a bit.

As Diri's spiritual energy patches some of his and Indy's wounds, Henry keeps his lance raised and calls out, "This is your last chance to stand down, Charvion! We'll not be offering ourselves to you today and unless you give up now, we're going to take you in kicking and screaming for the higher-ups, what!"

Sorry for the delay! Unless it is impractical due to low ceilings or social requirements, you can assume Henry stays on his dino. He's too slow otherwise. He also usually starts with lance in hand and will switch is necessary, like the last fight.

Henry stays close behind Calistan, starting to like the quiet oracle more and more. As the floating things attack, he attacks back without question or knowledge of what they really are.

Sounds like they're floating but in melee range, right? Hopefully the lance can reach them either way. Aiming for red first.

Henry raises his lance again, disappointed that the dragon chose neither to stand down and see reason nor to stand and fight but rather chose the coward's flight.

He follows the others into the building. Seeing spiders, he says, "I think the rest of you will be better suited for this task than myself." He backs Indy up to the rear of the group.

Hmm, I always buy alchemist's fire for my characters but must have used it and not replaced it on Henry. It's been so long since I've played him. I'm not sure there's much I can do right now, unfortunately.

Order of the Blue Rose means Henry actually has to offer surrender to intelligent creatures first before his challenge can take effect. A lot of people would say it's one of the worst orders for that reason but I love the RP value of it.

"What? What? Ho!" Henry shouts in excitement as the wall tumbles, just before he was about to feed the potion to Indy. "Well, sometimes the more destructive method works too, although a flying dinosaur would have been elegant, perhaps, haha!" Henry keeps his lance raised and leads the way forward with the rest of the Pathfinders.

Henry nods at Calistan as the man heals him and his dino and tries to form his words as clearly as possible while looking at him. "You're a quiet chap, but a good ol' fella and I like ya, what?"

At the barrier, Henry shakes his head. "Pick locks? No, that's not something I can do, what! I do have two flying potions on me though. Indy's not bad at flying, either. So we could fly over and I could give my other potion to someone else. Surely the bird can carry a couple, right? Do we have enough flight for everyone then?"

Actually, Indy has +8 Fly and plenty of carrying capacity so even though he's only medium maybe he can take Diri too. I'll leave it up to the GM's call whether that's feasible or not.

It's not the cheapest method but I bought them to use them so I really don't mind using up both of my potions. Just hope we don't need them later...

Henry notices that the goblins are quite a ways off. He kicks Indy into what counts as a charge for the large slow-moving beast and lowers his lance!

Henry is less confident in his plan, having seen that the barricade is trapped in places. Still, the fact that they would have the impetus to shoot at his dinosaur has gotten the lordling enraged enough to plow forward boldly.

"Enough of this!" Henry shouts to his companions. "Let's just get in there and break down this barricade! We've got to get through!"

Indy moves through the market and closer to the barricade. Henry stays low to avoid more arrow fire.

Henry takes the standard action defense, whatever it's called. I always get total and full defense mixed up, I think one of them is a standard action for +2 AC though.

"Just get on with it!" his longsword shouts, clearly annoyed at the halfing's banter. Henry relents and shuts his mouth as he steps up to the closest goblin and swings, using the flat of his broken blade to little effect.

Phew! Ok, I finished my exam a bit early and just turned it in. I'm catching back up now.

Henry spends a bit too much time across the way making sure Indiana II is safe and comfortable in the stables. In fact, he spends so much time giving the stableboys instructions that he misses the first part of the performance. "Excuse me! Pardon me! Oh, sorry! What? Oh! Pardon me!" He says as he tries to squeeze past other audience members to rejoin the crew.

"ALLOW ME TO ANNOUNCE-" Waman begins at the top of his voice, much to the disturbance of the spectacle, but Henry cuts the boy off quickly. "Shh! Not now! Sit down, boy! We're late, can't you see?"

"Really, Henry, you should be nicer to the boy. He's only acting on your instructions." a voice comes from somewhere near Henry's hip. "What? What? Oh! You be quiet too!" the halfling whispers to his longsword.

Henry tries to ignore the terrible commotion he has caused and begins to watch the proceeds with rapt attention, doing his best to avoid the glaring eyes of the nearby audience members.

Oh, thanks! This is a busy summer. My preliminary A test in a few weeks is just a week-long written exam that everyone takes at the end of their second year. Then most people take their "prelim B exam" (which is really a defense of your thesis proposal) at the end of the third year (which would be next summer for me). I'm crazy and anxious to get done as soon as possible so I scheduled my prelim B for August 23. So this summer I'll be pulling my hair out trying to get that done.

But if all goes to plan, that should shave some time off my graduation and I'll be Doc Endless in about two years.

I'm still here!

I wasn't able to see Shiradaz's stats but it doesn't look like we have an abundance of melee so I'll dust off ol' Henry here and bring him along. It's been over a year since I've played him so I need to update his profile and look over him again but he should be good to go soon.

Warning: I'll put out a reminder when we get closer, but I have my doctorate "prelim A" exam from June 6-10 so I will not be on the boards that week. I trust the GM to bot Henry if necessary though. Just as long as Indiana doesn't get killed again.*

*I have horrible luck with animal companions. My roc died (and got better), my axebeak died twice (and got better), and Henry's dino died (and was replaced). Ironically the only animal not to die yet is my level-14-archer's level 5 camel (from a dip in Samurai + boon companion). Lucky beast.

Yeah, that's another fun "save the oppressed!" scenario. Henry hit level 8 though so I'll have to bring someone else. My necromancer is free and just hit 5th level so I think I'll bring him. I like to keep him going as much as possible since he has a boon that requires playing so he doesn't get any GM credit.
