About HeginHegin Giantcutter
One day when they were around 15, the humans tried to attack Hegin's sister on the way home from school. The boys started throwing rocks, but Hegin just pushed his sister to continue while standing in the way of the rocks. The boys started to escalate their antagonizing when they realized they were being ignored. Eventually Hegin fell into a fit of rage and began to pound each of the bullies into unconsciousness. After realizing what he had done, Helgin grabbed his sisters' hand and ran home. The parents of the children were furious and forced their family to leave. Hegin was sorry for what he had done, and wanted to appologize. He would never get the chance. Hegin's short temper had caused them to be forced out of another home, so his parents told him he needed to find a way to deal with it. So he took up employment as a woodcutter and forester so he could deal with all of his anger. He became very good with the axe, but never really cared for the wood-chopping bit. Eventually he left the job, but still needed a way to vent his anger. So he tried to be a boxer. Dwarves are known for their fortitude and hardiness, but Hegin's was legendary. He could take several of the other fighters blows and not even feel a thing. He relished in the ring, and was extremely good at it. Of course he did not win every fight, and the ones he lost did a number to his appearance and intelligence. His most famous fight was with a sly tounged Hobgoblin named Gnasher. Gnasher talked alot before the fight, speaking about how he was going to destroy Hegin and built up a whole bunch of hype for the fight. This time it was going to be a bare-knuckles match, and weapons were strictly not allowed. The day of the fight came, and Hegin was furious about all of the things Gnasher had been saying before the fight. When the fight started, Hegin immediately gained the upper hand and was defeating Gnasher with little problem. When the second round started, Gnasher tried to put on some knuckles without anyone noticing. Most of the crowd and the referee were oblivious, but Hegin definitely saw it. Helost his tember once again and pulverised Gnasher, who was knocked out in under 15 seconds. Gnasher did not wake again for 4 days. It took 5 people to peel Hegin off the hobgoblin, and even they took a lick or two accross the face. Now Hegin has retired from that life, and has set out to be an adventurer. He has thick skin from his days as a boxer, and favors his greataxe in combat. He was born high in the mountains and has a certain resilience to the cold air. Hegin Is a stout 4'2" dwarf with a red beard and blue eyes. He is slightly deformed from his boxing days, and talks a little slower than most. He is a hardy drinker, and tries to be protecting of those who can't protect themselves. He has a good sense of humor, and claims he would never hurt a fly, unless they were annoying, or deserved it, or were in the way, or... Greataxe of Fury:
