Special Abilities
--------------------
Heart of the Sea Humans born near the sea are always drawn to it. They gain a +2 racial bonus on Profession (sailor) and Swim checks, and these are always class skills for them. They can hold their breath twice as long as normal, and spellcasters gain a +4 racial bonus on concentration checks when attempting to cast spells underwater. This racial trait replaces skilled.
Power Attack -1/+2 You can subtract from your attack roll to add to your damage.

Rage (Unchained, 6 rounds/day)[+2 attack/damage/Will/-2 AC/+2 HP's] (Ex) A barbarian can call upon inner reserves of strength and ferocity, granting her additional combat prowess. At 1st level, a barbarian can rage for a number of rounds per day equal to 4 + her Constitution modifier. For each level after 1st she possesses, the barbarian can rage for 2 additional rounds per day. Temporary increases to Constitution, such as that gained from bear’s endurance, do not increase the total number of rounds that a barbarian can rage per day. A barbarian can enter a rage as a free action. The total number of rounds of rage per day is renewed after resting for 8 hours, although these hours need not be consecutive.
While in a rage, a barbarian gains a +2 bonus on melee attack rolls, melee damage rolls, thrown weapon damage rolls, and Will saving throws. In addition, she takes a –2 penalty to Armor Class. She also gains 2 temporary hit points per Hit Die. These temporary hit points are lost first when a character takes damage, disappear when the rage ends, and are not replenished if the barbarian enters a rage again within 1 minute of her previous rage. While in a rage, a barbarian cannot use any Charisma-, Dexterity-, or Intelligence-based skill (except Acrobatics, Fly, Intimidate, and Ride) or any ability that requires patience or concentration (such as spellcasting).
A barbarian can end her rage as a free action, and is fatigued for 1 minute after a rage ends. A barbarian can’t enter a new rage while fatigued or exhausted, but can otherwise enter a rage multiple times per day. If a barbarian falls unconscious, her rage immediately ends.

Reckless Rage: When you use Power Attack while raging or while using raging song, you take an additional –1 penalty on melee attack rolls and combat maneuver checks, and you gain an additional +2 bonus on melee damage rolls. Modify this damage bonus appropriately based on the type of weapon you are using, as normal for Power Attack.

-----------------------------
Sea Reaver
-----------------------------
Marine Terror (Ex) A sea reaver can hold her breath for a number of rounds equal to four times her Constitution score. In addition, a sea reaver can move normally though squares of standing water or bog that is 1 foot deep. It does not cost her extra movement to traverse these terrains. Lastly, a sea reaver ignores the normal cover bonus to AC when attacking creatures that are partially immersed in water. This ability replaces fast movement.
Eyes of the Storm (Ex): At 2nd level, a sea reaver ignores any concealment provided by fog, rain, sleet, mist, wind, or other weather effects that is less than total concealment, and any penalties weather applies on Perception checks are halved. This ability replaces uncanny dodge.
Savage Sailor (Ex): At 3rd level, a sea reaver gains a +1 bonus on Acrobatics, Climb, Profession (sailor), Survival, and Swim checks made in aquatic terrain, including aboard a ship or along shorelines. These bonuses improve by +1 every three levels after 3rd. This ability replaces trap sense.

★Underwater breathing: Can hold breath for 120 rounds

Background:
Bursting out in laughter, the big, strapping fella slaps his fellow shipmate hard across the shoulder. "Good one! Boy you sure know how to tell 'em, Korg !" Korg grimaces at the pain, rubbing his shoulder.

As Joran wipes a tear from his eye, "Oh man, I'm gonna need another drink. BARTENDER! Another round here! He's paying," he points at his fellow shipmate with a wide grin, winking. Leaning back in his chair, "Man, this place is a dump. The 'Formidably Maid', huh? I wouldn't have called it that. I would've called it: The 'Tavern of Garbage'. Boy, if you let down your guard in this place for one second, you're liable to walk out of here with nothing but whatever pride you have left," he says, grinning.

Korg gives a look of warning at the barbarian. "Keep it down, Joran. Someone's going to hear you and take offense. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy than this place. We must be cautious, my friend."

Joran waves him off as if it's really no big deal, but does lower his voice for Korg's sake. "You fret too much, buddy. We can handle ourselves. I could run circles around this lot. On land and on ship. Plus, I'm me and you're... well you're you," he jokes, grinning.

Korg simply gives him a mocking grin in return.

"Anyway, as I was saying..." Joran starts, but quickly catches sight of a group of thugs who just walked in, acting as if they own the place and are looking for something. "Don't look now, buddy, but I believe some troublemakers just walked in the front door. You know how much I can't stand troublemakers," he says with a wry grin and a twinkle in his eye.

Korg casually glances in that direction. "Yeah, you ain't kidding. And I know that look of yours. You need to leave that alone, Joran. There are three of them and only one of you. And you never know, by the looks of this place, if you start trouble, Mr. Troublemaker, odds are more of the scum in this place will join their side. Then you're way outnumbered."

With a gleam in his eye, "Naaah. They're just thugs. Nothing I can't handle. And the rest of these clowns won't do a thing. I know their types. Care to join me?"

Shaking his head, "No, sir. I want no part of that. I'm just a rigger and can swab a deck. You know I'm no fighter, Joran. I really think you need to not mess with those guys. I have a bad feeling about them. Doesn't feel right."

Waving him off, "You gotta stop worrying about everything, buddy, and just live in the moment, my friend. This'll be fun. Just watch," he advises, winking and giving a nod.

Rising from his chair, Joran cracks his knuckles and then his neck, before striding over to the trio of thugs, full of confidence... and a bit of alcohol.

Korg shakes his head. Man, this is gonna end sooo badly.

Arriving at the lead thug, "You fellas lost? Because you look lost. I'm thinkin' you want the other tavern. The one that is not this one. What do ya say? Hm? Off you go." He dismisses them with a condescending wave before crossing his arms and waiting.

While none of the thugs are imposing, there are three of them... and the rest of the tavern is now watching with interest. The 'lead' thug narrows his eyes and asks in a gravely voice, "And who do you think you are, boy?"

Joran smiles uncomfortably at the term 'boy'. Taking a deep breath, "Well, I can tell you this, buddy... I'm not your boy." And with that, Joran's fury takes over, and he blasts the thug's jaw with a nasty right cross to the cheek, breaking his jawbone and knocking him down hard.

Grinning victoriously, "Alright! Which one of you scumbags is next?! Hm?! C'mon!" His fists up as he prepares himself to take out the other two, when he notices five others rise from their seats and slowly surround him. Cutting his eyes from one thug to the next, Joran rolls his eyes as his shoulders slump a little while sighing. "Well... this sucks."

Watching the whole thing unfold, Korg can only shake his head as he covers his eyes in frustration. Ugh. I just can't watch....

Joran has practically lived on the sea his whole life. He grew up never knowing his actual father or mother, his heritage, or pretty much anything else about where he's originally from and he's never asked. He was raised in Port Peril, growing up in the Beggerbriar district where he was taught everything there is to know about ships so he could prove "useful" to his foster father who was a pirate captain of his own boat. It wasn't a vessel that you would write home about but it was a vessel nonetheless.

He's a large fellow: About 6'6 and 250lbs of solid muscle, possessing long black hair and blue eyes.

Potential jobs: Rigger, Craft(Sails), Craft(Ships)
