About Haroldin

Memories:

Haroldin awakes with snippets of memories from hundreds of lifetimes, time on an alien planet, vague horrors pushing at the boundaries of his consciousness, and nothing else but a name. There are so many pieces of memories that he's not sure which, if any, are real, and even whether any of them have anything to do with who he is currently. The only commonality is the mysterious brand on his palm, but even that seems somewhat ephemeral in his memory. Sometimes the memory flashes come, and no matter what form he took in that lifetime, the brand is there, the other beings he can recall subtly staring at it. Other times the exact same memory flash will come, only no brand, and no one paying him any extraordinary attention.

Personality:

Haroldin is not entirely convinced that any of his memories are real, or even that the body he's in is actually his own. Sometimes when he's doing something or sharing knowledge, it almost feels to him like someone or something else is guiding him. He's thus very keen on observing what's going on around him, and examining his own motivations, looking for flaws that show that things are not exactly as they seem. He has decided to trust the knowledge he has about things that don't involve him personally, and to trust his new companions, because if those were also false, what would be the point of going on? This does give him a tendency towards paranoia, which he is aware of, but given the circumstances they all find themselves in, he feels it is justified. This lack of certainty has also made him quite willing to be flexible with the truth when dealing with outsiders, as from his point of view, just as he isn't certain anything he knows is true, he can't be certain something is untrue either. He can seem a bit manic and twitchy at times, especially when not in brightly lit environs, but is holding it together surprisingly well.
