Background:

"Gentleman" Jack Cameron was the epitome of the dilettante thief, another Arsène Lupin robbing the rich for the joy of the game and the benefit of his own coffers. Unfortunately, his first visit to Star City (to steal famed sapphire The Eye of the West) coincided with one of Doctor Destruction's perennial throwdowns with Champion and Jack found himself at the epicentre of a colossal blast.

Awakening an indeterminate time later, Jack knew he was dead. But, as a grin grew across his face never to disappear, he also knew he'd managed to outrun the Devil himself to return to the world. Moreover, he'd stolen something from Old Scratch on par with stealing fire from the gods: he knew he could conquer, perhaps even become Death herself, by assembling the correct items in the correct pattern at the correct time. The details were a little hazy, but Jack knew he'd remember by the end.

Since his rebirth, Jack truly learned all the by-ways of Star City on his quest and his exploits baffled the local heroes. From the mostly harmless (stealing the Mayor's green scarf on a winter stroll) to the dangerous (sidelining a gadget hero for a time by stealing his power source cache) to the outright homicidal (five left ventricles), Jack appeared everywhere and nowhere.

And now that the V'Sori have conquered, Jack has a new target. He knows they have the key item he needs, knows he'll know it when he sees it, and knows he will have it. And then DEATH WILL BE HIS!

Happy Jack appears as a completely hairless (Hi, Mus'ad!), bone pale man of indeterminate age in a black furred coat and low sitting homburg hat. His face is in a permanent grin, which shades into superior smirk at times.
