So I am working on finishing up the pirate Captain Fremont (Bard/Buccaneer [Gunslinger] 8), whom I was tempted to name The Dread Pirate Roberts and perhaps that will be the name he goes by..., and his First Mate Lucelle (Freebooter [Ranger], Inquisitor of Besmara. His schtick is pretty much being your stereotypical pirate captian. He's got a peg leg (Mechanics: Half movement? Inability to 5-Foot Step?) and Parrot familiar acheived through the Buccaneer archetype. Both are adept two-weapon fighters, Captain Fremont uses his two +1 Cruel Pistols and is more then comfortable swapping out one of his pistols to use his +1 Rapier. (Using his second item valued at 3,300 gp or less for his Rapier if that is okay.) Lucelle on the other hand is a master swashbuckler and puts her +1 Rapier and +1 Dagger to deadly use. Together they make a deadly duo. While the captain is Inspiring Courage in their crew and buffing them with his spells, Lucelle is coordinating their attacks with her Freebooter's Bane ability and striking terror into their enemies with her Dazzling Displays of prowess with her Rapier so that the captain's pistols can work their magic. Not only that, Lucelle helps the crew make maximum use of common tactics like flanking through her use of Pack Attack, Outflank, and her Freebooter's Bond. With these tactics they have managed to become some of the most feared pirates on the seas. What do you think? Any issues with this concept? I have to say that his kingdom would likely be an island hide away.
I'm considering an Aasimar Pirate Captian (Bard/Ranger(Free Booter)) who leads his troops from the back using Inspire Courage and Freebooter's Bane to not only strengthen his allies, but focus their fire. Old Smoky Bill wrote: @Tiny Coffee Golem: Yes, I was half thinking those imps being the demon and angels on your shoulders. Just the angel version is an imp wearing an angel costume :P This also makes me want to make a character that literally has an angel and devil that sit on her/his shoulders.
The Hirtz Factor here. I have not had enough time to fully flush out a character, but I thought I could up the basic premise. Hanzou is the last of his clan. Trained since birth to be a simple killing machine, he has worked every day to master the skills of his trade. Infiltration, stealth, reconnaissance, hand-to-hand combat, and archery are but a fraction of his capabilities. Capabilities that are now fully focused on the revenge of his decimated clan.
Would you allow a Azata-Blooded Aasimar to trade out their spell-like ability for the variant ability "Once you've reached adulthood, you never appear to age, although you take aging penalties normally and die when it is your time." from the variant ability chart? It goes well with the flavor of this character.
I have a few ideas I'm playing with, but I think I'm going to start overpowered and work my way down to see just how low I can go. The first concept I would like to try is a gestalted level 20 Zen Archer Monk/Divine Hunter Paladin. And unless that goblin has some way to prevent dieing in a wave of fire, I'm not sure how it is going to hold up...
Thinking it out a bit more, I think my legless monk might be rather bad and think himself some sort of zombie. A madness bred from his family being slaughtered and raised as undead themselves. His kingdom will be a safe haven for those with no place to go whether it be because of disease, madness, or poor circumstances. With this in mind, I might trade out his Fighter side for Anti-Paladin instead.
For what its worth, I kind of enjoyed the fact you gained something for every fattle you won and lost something for every battle you lost. While its true that those who partake of consumable items should show a decrease in wealth as compared to those that don't, I can understand setting a bare minimum that they can drop too. So you can buy as many consumables as your current wealth allows, but you can never drop below the minimum gold amount for your current level. That in turn could prevent them from buying mucn in terms of consumable items if they keep losing.
I'm getting ready to start combing my way through the thread, but I do have a few character concepts in mind already. Before I put one forth for acceptance though, I would like to know how character death is handled? Are you considered to be rezzed for your next match? Is your character done and gone with a reroll on the horizon?
So I would basically be able to use something like the Orc/Half-Orc feat Ferocious Tenacity (Combat) out of the Orcs of Golarion book by using this feat than? Of course I would have to meet the non-racial prerequisites along with taking the Racial Hertiage for Orc or Half-Orc to do so.
So from what I've seen, we are allowed to take the feat Human Heritage, which states the following (For those not familiar with it.): Racial Heritage wrote:
From what I've seen in the FAQ and through various posts, it would appear that you no longer use a good portion of this feat. First off, you can not take recial archetypes based on this post from Michael Brock. Secondly, you can not take any type of racial trait or racial feat through this feat based of the Additional Resources stating the following: Additional Resources wrote:
So basically the only benefits/penalties you gain from this feat is that you're now considered a member of the human race and whatever other race you chose when determining the effects of anything that is race related. Am I interrupting this correctly?
Sesharan wrote: Well, it still works for potions of Vanish. Which would even be cheaper. This is true, yet its not nearly as game breaking. Considering you can only imbue the Sipping Jacket once per day with a potion, a Potion of Vanish gives them round/s (Max 5 rounds, 10 if they buy an extended potion) as opposed to minutes per day to turn invisible with this jacket.
So taking another route, would you by chance mean that you just received a +3 Speed Longbow? +3 being the enhancement bonus. Or did you mean that the weapon at hand is a Composite Longbow with a +3 Strength rating? As it has been said, normally a weapon is required to have some type of enhancement bonus before you place a special ability on it like Speed. This information will help us calculate things out, but as it has been said, Vital Strike requires a standard action and thusly will not come into play when you use the Speed property of a weapon and/or Manyshot. However, Manyswhot and the Speed property will both come into effect when you take a full attack action. Once we understand a bit more about the bow you have, we can help you calculate out these different attacks.
You could always bring it to their attention that the Potion of Invisiblity technically has a minute-based duration which in turn makes it an illegal choice for the sipping jacket which states the following: Sipping Jacket wrote: The coat absorbs only potions with instantaneous or round-based durations...
