About Hakak Death-Bringer

Physical Appearance:

Hakak stands 6'4" and weights close to 250 lbs. Like most half-orc warriors he is thick in body. His hair is kept shaved and his skin is dark like most of the inhabitants of Dalath.

Background:

The portents say that Hakak was born under an auspicious moon. Unbeknownst to him, several prophecies foretold of his arrival. The half-breed, tainted by hell and the abyss, gifted with both staff and blade; able to snatch life away in an instant. The tribe held many beliefs about Hakak and it gifted him with many trials and tribulations. He won many battles and fought in many more, often leading his tribe to conquering other tribes.

Eventually he led his brood against a human city. They fought with savage fury but could not break the castle defenses. He was eventually captured and sold into slavery while his tribe was slaughtered. He did not make a good slave, and the effort to tame him became too great so he was turned into a pit fighter, a gladiator. In this endeavor he was much more successful and required no training or investment. Eventually he ran out of opponents, or more accurately, his owners ran out of opposition willing to risk their champions or their purses.

With no one to fight and no money to be won, he was soon sold to Zummabu, more as tribute and stature to repay an old debt. Hakak quickly grew board and longs for the days of combat. He has spent several years in servitude to Zummabu. This is likely the only reason he is still alive.

Darkvision - Half-orcs can see in the dark up to 60 feet.

Orc Blood - Half-orcs count as both humans and orcs for any effect related to race.

Sacred Tattoo - Many half-orcs decorate themselves with tattoos, piercings, and ritual scarification, which they consider sacred markings. Half-orcs with this racial trait gain a +1 luck bonus on all saving throws. This racial trait replaces orc ferocity.

Scavenger - Some half-orcs eke out a leaving picking over the garbage heaps of society, and must learn to separate rare finds from the inevitable dross. Half-orcs with this racial trait receive a +2 racial bonus on Appraise checks and on Perception checks to find hidden objects (including traps and secret doors), determine whether food is spoiled, or identify a potion by taste. This racial trait replaces the intimidating trait.

Weapon Familiarity - Half-orcs are proficient with greataxes and falchions and treat any weapon with the word “orc” in its name as a martial weapon.
