N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

If you could bot for me a few days that would be great Smerg, information follows:

Smerg:
HKs pretty much going to spill the beans.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

Eh, mechanically that's what the vision talents are for really, of course I do whatever the hell I like with the Force and my players as far as story goes, but that's just because the Force is one big plot device.

On another note: I will get a post up soon which should affect your decision based on my super secret HK info. *nods to Smerg* ;)

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

Smerg:
HK will access them both.

HK fingers his rifle and glances at Kidd, hesitating for a moment.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

Definitely.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

In a manner of speaking, an electroshock probe from a tool kit deals d8 ion damage, but you'd suffer -5 to attack because it's not designed to be a weapon. Unfortunately there are no actual weapons rules as written, but I've house ruled an 'ion baton' into my games in the past, which is essentially a stun baton with ion instead of stun,.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

"Recollection: I have retrieved data fragments of conversations between myself and the rest of you - specifically Captain Kol. I do not recall the details of the discussions, but I do remember the same ranks as Vash." HK tells Gol, before glancing warily down at Kidd as the boy comes to. "Sarcastic Delight: Oh marvellous, the team are slowly losing their minds..."

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

"Concerned Inquiry: Will the boy live, doctor?"

DM Only:
Okay, now if THAT wasn't suspicious I don't know what is. HK is going to discreetly have his hand on a weapon for now, and as far as the near future goes he's going to do his best not to let Kidd out of his sight. I really want to tell Kol but he could still be the traitor if I'm wrong about Kidd... ><

I love this campaign.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

"Reluctant Regret: Many of my own kind were harmed by our actions also, but we must go if only to discover the truth. We do not need to reveal ourselves to them completely."

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

"Analysis: The use of the term rendezvous would suggest we should prepare for their arrival, it seems we are to finally meet the other team. However, a gap in my motivators tells me that we should be wary - trust nobody."

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

Kiddrick:
"Retort:" HK replies as Kidd approaches him, the soft red glow returning to his eyes as he looks up from his charge cycle to talk with the team's youngest member. "I am unsure, meat bag, I have been considering it also - give me a few moments to consult my latent databanks for information..."

...

"Processing..."

...

...

"Processing..."

...

...

...

"Processing..."

...

"Results: No data found, it would appear that either we did not wish ourselves to know of any pre-existing condition, or that this is a result of the recovery process. Perhaps the good doctor is simply insane?"

HK seems unbothered by this fact.

"Irritated Explanation:" HK abruptly snaps as Kidd asks his other question, "I have neither the time nor the patience to explain the details of such a thing to an organic like you. However, I suppose for your simplistic purposes that is a suitable analogy yes.

This seems to be a sore subject with HK, but not necessarily one that should be avoided, simply treated carefully.

As HK and Kidd finish talking, the droid's photoreceptors seem to blink in and out for a moment again, and he raises his head to address the party.

"Statement: We have received new information, Snow White's work is complete, Red Valkyrie has been signalled and will rendezvous with Sullustan VI in the next two hours at Docking Bay 132 D."

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

HK plugs in for a charge cycle while the others rest, his processor constantly ticking over contemplating the unnecessary scrapping of the maintenance droids on entry, and how many unconsidered labour droids lay as a pile of twisted metal and sparks while the organics rushed to tend their own. The unfamiliar sensation of regret twists through his circuits, and he promises himself that next time he will try his best to avoid such senseless loss of functionality.

Force point to lose a dark side?

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

"Statement: That is a wise course of action."

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

Congratulations guys, you just earned the spot of being the one RP on the entire internet I am not dropping out of due to time constraints, feel privileged. :P

Seriously though, you guys are awesome.

HK will take the average of 6, his second level bonus feat will be toughness since droids don't get con, plus all the usual mechanical blah.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

Before this mission we had 500, now we have 1300 total, more than 1000 which means *ding ding ding* level up! ^^

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

Smerg (spoilers are fun):
Can I open it? Also, with Kidd openly acting like that HK is now paying very close attention to him, his suspicions of this boy are rising.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

Smerg:
I dunno, I just figured all the cool kids send you messages. ;)

HK slips back into the role of a typical protocol droid with surprising ease in comparison to his usual eerily macabre self, wandering to and fro performing translations where needed or otherwise just holding things and generally assisting. As he passes each of the team one of his photoreceptors blinks on and off.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

HK helps Kol to his feet, while continuing to glance around to see if anyone is paying attention to them.

"Instruction: Come on master, up you get. Get moving, I'll watch our backs."

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

HK makes a noise which could almost be described as a sigh.

"Resigned Statement: It seems the meatbag has finally lost his mind..."

As the group moves up to the drop off area HK keeps watch.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

Stealth Check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

Attack Roll: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 163d8 ⇒ (7, 4, 8) = 19

As the tram rocks under the force of the blast HKs motivators keep him rock steady as he does what he does best, discreetly squeezing the trigger on his ion carbine so the camera will look like it simply blacked out during the explosion. He feels a sense of smug satisfaction at a job well, done as well triumph over these meatbag fools.

"Proud Statement: We are no longer under surveillance, shall we proceed to our objective?"

DM ONLY:
HK has come to the conclusion he wants to watch Kidd very carefully, he's too young.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

If you're saying twenty is always a success can I have my force point back?

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

Force Point: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Hell yeah!

HK sprains a few motivators, but he's mostly okay.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

HK will subtly ready an action to ion blast the camera simultaneously as the explosion goes off, in the hope the security center will think the camera has been disabled by the blast, and in order to take advantage of the distraction when security will hopefully be taking cover.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

"Warning: The odds of surviving a tibanna gas containment failure at this distance are approximately 3,720 to 1!" HK warns, toddling towards the approaching security, suddenly making a surprisingly convincing protocol droid.

1d20 ⇒ 10 Aid.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

"Inquiry: Do you require assistance Vash," HK jibes, the smirk in his voice evident.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

Also slipping back into a blind spot, HK fingers his ion blaster.

"Observation: Ion weapons simply deactivate most simple electrical equipment and reset them to their default position. Doors open, bridges retract, cameras go black but don't act like they've been blasted - they'd send a tech team down and then we have uniforms and passes."

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

"Interjection: Decide quickly, they will bring us to a halt once they realise where we are."

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 and Force point.

Quickly completing his scans, HK locates a socket the group can use.

"Statement: Captain, I have located a computer port we can access, additionally there are reinforcements approaching the next station."

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

HK jogs as the front of the group, taking point and scanning for contacts as he goes. As the train pulls away he keeps scanning for security, ready to lay down cover fire for the group if necessary.

Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

Nodding to Vash in understanding, HK follows up to cover the group's advance out of the droid room. He seems to want to leave this place as soon as possible.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

HK turns and blasts the droid at L7.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 243d8 ⇒ (4, 4, 5) = 13

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

No confirms in SAGA remember Kol? That is a crit.

HK hesitates for a moment before speaking once more.

"Reluctant Acceptance: Very well Captain."

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

"Regretful Summary: Statements of surprise, attempts to repair each other, sorrow at the loss of friends, dutiful insistence. Accusatory: Did you have to destroy them, we do possess ion weaponry."

For the first time the group hears compassion from HK.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

HK moves up to the nearest large droid and takes a second shot.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 133d8 ⇒ (8, 7, 6) = 21

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

Put HK on K16, nothing fancy.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

That sounds like a very fair compromise, one of the major benefits of being a human jedi is you can take force training twice at first level.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2
Quote:
Is it some kind of typo that Force Training is not a Jedi Bonus feat? I don't see it on the list, but if it were, then I could alleviate my ranged issue with some force powers.

It's not, it's like that to stop Jedi taking Force Training at every bonus feat and having over 9000 powers.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

I had a jedi in a group once that liked to make bundles of two out of the grenades he found on his enemies, then just roll a use the force check to hit them with them. I allowed it because it was inventive and at the end of the day not that game breaking.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

Throw lightsaber talent? Redirect shot? Move object? Force lightning? Ranged weapon from the simple proficiency type? Ballistakinesis? Combustion? Draw closer? Fold space? Force blast? Force storm? Kinetic combat? Surge?

There are lots of options for both bringing the enemy to you, getting to them, and attacking from range.

Jedi with poisoned repeater crossbow = win.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

HK will enter the gallery and take a shot at the nearest droid with his ion carbine, which should be DMO on K17 if I'm not mistaken.

Perception to Scan the Room: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 193d8 ⇒ (7, 8, 8) = 23

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

Initiative: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

Huttese:
"Shall I incapacitate them Captain? They likely understand basic, and a short ion burst could prevent them from calling for security - as they just threatened to do."

HK tells Kol something in Huttese, and fingers his ion carbine.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

As far as the map we were just given goes, I'd like to insert as close to our objective as possible.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

-- cut to --

HK walking on the outer hull of the spire with his magnetic feet, he stands ready besides the make shift door in preparation for a breaching manoeuvre.

-- cut to --

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

Considered it, but you know - droid. ;)

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

I love this campaign. ^^

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

-- cut to --

HK pulling out of the medical facility in an open topped speeder, a tarpaulin covers a mound of medical equipment in the back, a single uniform sleeve hangs out of the edge. Besides him in the speeder Vash pushes a button on her bracer computer and all the cameras turn to point another way.

-- cut to --

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

HK is happy to go along with this, droids can usually pass unnoticed in most places as long as they don't draw attention to themselves.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

Montage!

Montages are cool.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

Yeah, we're just hesitating to think I think.

N/A Droid (4th-Degree) Soldier 2

"Obvious Statement: I would favour the more direct approach - but I imagine you all would have guessed that by now."
