Goal: Höd's goal is to prove himself to the gods in hopes that he honors them enough that they will lift his curse. Of course, they won't likely lift the curse which will probably lead to bitterness, brokenness, and hopefully, acceptance of his state. Reason to be in the River Kingdoms: With no ties left in the Lands of the Linnorm Kings since the death of his mother Ragna, Höd wanders Avistan: working where he may. The hope of mercenary work in a thriving town is what brings him to Restov. However, he soon finds himself on the wrong end of the law and doesn't like where his life is headed. When he learns of the Swordlord's charter, he jumps at this chance to get back to an honest living. Höd learned the armorer's trade from his late mother who was the most sought after smith in the north. This has led to Höd's great wealth. That, and his brief brigandhood. Description: Höd stands 6'3" and is therefore on the shorter end of his kin. He has a light brown/dirty blond mess of hair and a matching beard. Höd is 27 years old and weighs 189 lbs. His hazel eyes are now as pale as his skin thanks to his curse. Höd wears a maroon tunic with 3 quarter sleeves under an exquisite coat of burnished, silver, steel scales edged in polished brass. Around his shoulder's he wears a handsome blue cloak trimmed in yellow. Its hem is slightly frayed from travel. Höd's loose black trousers end tucked into fine brown leather boots. A beaten wooden shield is slung across his back. Höd carries several weapons: A masterfully crafted greatsword named Fenrir. He carries twin hand axes made especially to be thrown in addition to see use in hand to hand combat. Finally, Höd keeps a dagger in a spring loaded sheath at his wrist under his right bracer. Personality: Höd was always a normal kid, well not that normal. His mother was Ragna Magnusdotter: a renowned armorer. Everyone knew him. At 16 the gods cursed him with a cloudiness of vision that made it hard for him to see things. This was compensated for by his instant affinity to battle. Höd, who was a frail and awkward boy up til then, became one of the best warriors of his age overnight. Life went on, Höd adjusted to his new vision and spent more time as a caravan guard or doing drills with the militia than he did in his mother's smithy. Then Ragna died. Unable to bear her loss and the attention everyone gave him after her passing, Höd left the Lands of the Linnorm Kings in search of work to keep his mind off his troubles. Unless provoked, Höd is, in fact, a peace-loving pushover who likes to bring happiness and joy to the lives of his friends.
