Gunther nods. "It is not I that would withhold forgiveness, Thomas," he remarks. "But, she did disobey Bærwynnd's command and did violate even the most basic of laws." The young woman seated next to the Apprentice glares at the captive before turning to Gunther with undeniable consternation. She leans in and whisper's in her brother's ear.
Gunther lifts a hand to her lips to keep her from saying more. "Aerryndöl, with your permission," he continues. When the rogue reluctantly acquiesces to his request, the Apprentice closes his eyes and makes a quick gesture with his hand. Moments later, he awakens and looks at his sister. "She seeks many things, but murder is not one of them." Giseila's jaw tightens but she says nothing and looks away from Gunther and the girl.
"Release her and let Ser Cássyon and the Constable know that the Tower has no quarrel with her," he commands the guards. They all bow their heads to the Apprentice and turn to leave. Gunther turns his attention back to Aerryndöl. "If you'd like to get back in His graces... or mine... you'll do as Thomas suggests and help the living establish control over the Vale."
She says nothing but looks back over her shoulder at the great bear and the hunter.
