About Gug "Slave"
Haqim Al'Juban is a Qadiran sorcerer who worked with the Pathfinder Society for a time. On one of the expeditions they found an ancient Thassilonian ruin and Haqim discovered a hidden room, kept at freezing temperatures and overflowing with preservative magic. Inside they found a giant block of ice encasing a primitive male and several curious objects made of bone, stone, and fur. He claimed this strange treasure for himself and used his magic to take it back to Absalom with the rest of their finds.
With enough time and effort they were able to thaw out this neanderthal who had been frozen for a very long time, possible a curiosity about to be studied back in Thassilonian times. Haqim used his clout within the society to keep the creature as his own while 'loaning' him to the society for study, allowing them to use him as they saw fit as long as he earned the accolades that would surely follow. He then spent most of his time focusing on his trading business in Qadira.
A kind-hearted, and curious, half-elf named Juliana Startear decided to head the research project centered around the neanderthal she learned was named Gug. It took nearly all of her patience and a lot of work, but, with the help of some friends (where once she had favors to collect, she now has debts) she was able to give Gug training, to include weapons, armor, and a single language. The neanderthal's instincts and abilities were already very well honed, he just needed education, a lot of education.
Occasionally Haqim Al'Juban would stop by when visiting Absalom to give his slave some proper training on who his master was, which angered Juliana greatly. The bosses deemed it was time to get some 'field data' on this cave-man and plan on sending him with some new recruits on The Confirmation, away from his 'mother'. This will be an excellent test of Gug and the new recruits both, and they're interested in seeing what field data is collected. They will only send with him the items found encased in the ice with Gug when he was found, all of which were preserved extremely well with the Thassilonian magic.
So far it is believed that Gug is an ancestor of the Kellids and the Night Hunt Mammoth Lord tribe.
