Yes, Lavinnia is now dead and my PCs murdered her.

To begin with, my group had already sided with Rowyn. They were sent to go rob the place and plant evidence against Lavinnia, blaming her for the assassination of the Harbormaster.

So, after a tough fight that saw both the party's fighters brought down by Drevoraz, the group's rogue demands to Lavinnia that she provide a cleric to resurrect her fallen comrade. When she refused, the rogue killed her. It was all rather shocking for everyone in the group.

Now they are planning on sneaking her body back to Rowyn so she can raise it into a zombie and to avoid anyone being able to discover their crime.

Looks like I don't have any other choice but to have Rowyn take the lead.

I haven't seen anyone else post about their PCs joining Rowyn but I was curious if any other DMs are facing this dilemma. So far, they are mainly motivated by greed, which Rowyn seems to be offering them. I plan on testing their loyalty a bit by having Rowyn ask the PCs to plant evidence against Lavinnia for the murder of the harbormaster when they go to her house to "rescue" her from the Bullywugs. She will also encourage them to steal anything they can while they are there.

From there, it will depend on how the PCs act. However, if they stay with Rowyn, I plan on having her essentially switch places with Lavinnia for the rest of the adventure.

Anyway, to my question. If anyone else is dealing with this, how are you handling the switching sides?

Yeah, so the party of adventurers I'm running this game for are a bunch of CN nut jobs that joined with Rowyn because they thought Lavinnia was a twit and well, they're pirates. Actually, I was kind of happy with it, since part of me thinks it will be easier to motivate them through Rowyn than Lavinnia.

That being said, there is precious little information on how to run the future adventures with Rowyn as the party's patron. Has anyone else had their party join with her? And if so, how are you structuring this change in the plot?

As I have left it, Rowyn has asked the party to essentially spy on Lavinnia. The party has shown her the note left by Penkus, so she is already beginning to doubt Vanthus and I have decided that she may be planning to go underground and set up the Vanderborens for anything that the Lotus Dragons may be blamed for. I might even have her family influence the Dawn Council by having the party bring "evidence" of the Vanderborens being responsible for the murder of the Harbor Captain and make the Kellanis seem like heroes (along with the PCs).

As for future adventures, I like the suggestions in the adventures but does anyone have other ideas on how to restructure things in the game.

Any help would be appreciated because they are pushing me to play again. (That and everyone is having a blast playing this adventure).

Thanks
