![]() They want you up and moving pretty much right away. Herniated Disk surgery is now considered out patient and the incision is only two inches long. The hardest is the walking because I don't have full feeling in my right foot due to the nerves having been overstimulated or pinched. My doctor indicated that it could take a year for the feeling to come back. But I made myself an herbal tea with the herbal knowledge that I have. The tea is designed to stimulate the nerves. Though it won't work right away, it will help in the process and I hope drinking it two-three times each day for at least a month will do some good. Certainly over this next year. I want feeling back in my foot. ![]()

![]() OT: Surgery went well. It was outpatient so I got to go home. Started in my walking. Walked two 30 minute walks. Did a little more than what was intended, but I guess I'm an overachiever when it comes to wanting to get back to my routine. (And that's a Dickerson for you . . . always wanting to do more than what is expected). Can't wait to get back to my full routine. My intent is to come to gaming. I'm not supposed to lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk this week, next week I can lift 10 pounds, and then after that, 20. Can't wait to be cleared by my doctor so I can start in with my exercising again. ![]()

![]() OT: I will be having surgery (Alisa-not Grayson) on Monday for a herniated disk where part of the disk has appeared to have broken off and is pressing on the nerve root in on S1 joint, near where the right hip meets the spine. It is an out patience procedure. It will take 2-6 weeks of recovery time. I am not supposed to lift anything the first week. I can lift up to 10 pounds the second. After the second I should be able to lift 20 pounds. They want me to walk 15 minutes two and three times a day and they want me to start walking that same day of the surgery. As for gaming, I am planning on being there for our next game, so save me a place at the table. Graysom's juggling might be a little off, but hopefully I should juggle my dice just fine. ![]()

He would often practice his acting in front of his Aunt and Uncle and they would give him pointers on embellishing or not depending on the scene he would be practicing. ![]() I want to be there for Gaming, however, I am having so much trouble with my back with a cyst pressing on nerves on my right side, that my right foot is partially numb. I will be getting shots for the SI Joint as well where I have pain and the combination of the two is enough to leave me laying in bed with pain killers and anti-inflammatory, and muscle relaxers that leave me sleepy. I don't like that fact since I am a very active person and I don't want to stop being active. Gary had to call the EMTs on Saturday because I could not get out of bed because when I moved, I SCREAMED LOUD ENOUGH TO WAKE THE DEAD! AND I'm NOT a screamer. And that is literal. I had not been able to get down stairs until today to check everything. I am looking forward to getting back into bed so I can rest my back. I am also looking forward to finding out whether I need surgery to remove this cyst. And it may be a forgone conclusion that I may have to in order to get my back healthy again. ![]()

![]() Short sword is fine. He needs maneuvering room anyway with that acrobatic strike. A regular long sword might not work well. He's probably going to be more like a fly in the ointment. Eventually, he'll learn use that strike to his advantage. ![]()

![]() I think about my time in the kaer and my last night at the Inn. It is so hard for me not to want to show off the acrobatic moves that I learned. The entertainer in me wants to shout 'look at what I can do' but something inside tells me I must be cautious. The moves remind me so much of my parent's moves. I knew them before, but now, it is as if they have been honed to a greater awareness. Can I really use this to defend others and myself? I am doubtful at first, but then something comes to me . . . A vision? An awareness? A memory? It is hard to tell. There is something familiar about these moves as if I had learned them as a child and had forgotten. No matter, it will come to me far more clearly when I am fully rested. My last night in the Inn is approaching. I must come up with a story worthy of remembrance. Who knows how long I will be gone. Then I decided to tell them a tale that my Mother once shared. I grab my juggling balls and I head out to the common room. I am introduced. Welcome, have I got a story to share for you . . . At the end of my performance, I decide to leave the full amount that I have earned to my companion. He deserves no less for giving me this opportunity. It is kind of bitter sweet. I may not be able to share my stories for a very long time. In this little group, I hope I am worthy to play my part. At the same time, I am looking forward to finding out what is out there in the wider world. Sounds good to me, Valsera. ![]() I look down at my new boots. I am standing at the back, hearing the conversations. Adept, Me? That might explain some things, how I'm good at juggling, even all the acrobatic moves that I know. I feel so much more alive when I do them and something else. It's hard to explain. The story telling as well. I've noticed how much people are drawn in. It is as if I have them . . . spellbound? Is that possible? I wish I knew more. My uncle told me once knowledge is power, but also dangerous. My aunt and uncle has always encouraged me, and yet they have also cautioned me to be careful. Now I wonder what they knew that I did not Were they aware that I might be . . . It seems unlikely . . . and yet I wonder . . . wonder why they would even consider if it could mean . . . An image of being put to death comes to my mind and I shudder. Then an overwhelming sadness comes to me, realizing what would be lost . . . the stories. who would tell them? And to know more . . . But . . . Delamater is correct, to go to the kaer now would amount to admitting you were one . . . An Adept. It would not be an easy task to accomplish without leaving tracks and someone was bound to notice. Questions that could not be easily explained. "I am curious as well, but . . . ![]() I go to my stash and pull out a silver coin or two. I haven't bought a pair of boots in so long I think I may have forgotten how much they are. Then I remember my Mother always made sure that I had new boots to wear. I miss them dearly. Enough with the remembering. It's high time I take care of this myself. I go to the cobblers and enter his shop. "How can I help you?" the cobbler asked "I need a good pair of boots that will last me through the winter." "I have several here." The shop keeper takes me over to a shelf and shows me several pairs. "How much are they?" I ask. "This pair is 4 copper. They are for riding. Do you have a horse?" "No. so I guess I don't need those." "Might I suggest this soft pair," the cobbler states. "These are only a copper. These may even be your size." "Will they last the winter?" I ask. "They should." "What about that pair?" "Planning on climbing a mountain?" the cobbler asks I give out a nervous laugh. "I'll take the soft pair," I reply. I hand over one of the silver and the cobbler hands me back some copper. He gives me the boots. My feet actually will be most grateful once I have them on my feet. I leave and return to my small quarters off the common room in the Tavern. I look through my belongings and I realize I have very little, just the things my Aunt and Uncle have provided. Then I turn my thoughts toward the decision. I think about the stories that I do know, and I realize there aren't that many. I'll probably start repeating them and that could mean less coinage. I need a new source. Well, here goes nothing. Looks like I'll have to tell Shoonmaker that I have an appointment to keep. He might ask me who it is. I'll just say it's an old friend. Looks like I'll be contacting this Crispell and visiting the old Kaer. I wonder if there's some old stories in there. And maybe it will give me a chance to brush up on my acrobatics. ![]() Oh what also makes a difference, how wide you have your browser window open. If you have a very large screen 22 inches or more) you can have the browser window going across your whole screen and then the stats won't wrap. If you don't have a very large monitor, the stats will appear to wrap. I don't think people realize that. Try that. You'll be surprised how that works.
