Goodluck winced slightly at Caelin's swift blow, but then ran over to help. He picked up the head and wrapped it in the Queen's own cloak for transport. "And the anti-plant shell might give us time for a climb, he suggested, nodding towards Taecuss scroll cases.
Goodluck's heart rose at Taecuss's words of confidence. He pressed his attempt to transform the Queen, feeling victory was close. But he tried to keep a bit of worry from his face...he was getting weaker and if she didn't succumb soon, he'd have to try a different tactic. "Not bird nor a frog, Queen? Then how about a sloth!"
Fail that save!!!
"Ah, we've found you again, witch! If you won't fly, maybe you'll hop!" Goodluck yelled maliciously, as he tried once again to turn her into a frog.
Goodluck wants to know if Caelin's attack will allow him to see the Queen.
"Yes, friend, I have them..." the Mwangi man responded, turning to deal with the new threat. He moved his barnacled body next to another pillar and put up another ice wall between himself and the newly arrived spriggans.
"That should buy us a few moments!"
"Unless we can magically move to the wardstones, maybe with the help of the staff, or perhaps the mirror, we won't be able to run fast enough. Our magical enhancements will wear off, and we'll be too weak."
Does anyone remember what we were supposed to do with that staff? Did we need it to repair the Faengard? Can we just flee with the thing? Or did we need to break it?
"You'll not hide from us forever, you glorified pixie. Gozreh will have his revenge for the way you've perverted our world."
Goodluck saw Caelin hacking on the column and hustled over to get a better look.
He saw a set of stairs to the north, which led up, and a set of stairs to the south, which led down. He heard music coming from the stairs leading down, as if a party was going on down below. He could just hear distant shouts of alarm, but it did not sound like any enemies were in the immediate vicinity. That would surely change soon. Raising his hands and scanning for the Queen, he said "She might have fled to her friends. Maybe there is something here we can hurt to weaken her? Like the mirror?"
Goodluck was also frustrated that the Queen had disappeared. He looked for other threats in the room, and listened for the approach of other enemies.
What are the other methods of entrance into this throne room? I might want to block off some of them. Can I hear the approach of any enemies?
Recalling the nightmare the Queen subjected him to, Goodluck decided on some vengeance. Running up behind Caelin, he scowled across the room at the Queen. "You can sing dis time, witch!"
Goodluck followed the others in and, raising his hands in front of his face, blew a cold breath on a piece of quartz held deftly between his fingers. A wall of crackling ice appeared between the heroes and the other spriggans.
Before leaving the jailer's room, Goodluck gathered everyone around. "Da Queen has shown us some of her power in da nightmare she sent. She will hide from us, while using her power to transform us to animals. She may also try to control our minds. Maybe dis will help." He gave a few small blessings of Gozreh to each of the heroes
"Taecuss, your ability to see invisible creatures will be critical. Please let us know where da witch is hiding, perhaps I can dispel her magic. Also, you hold the scroll of anti-plant shell given by da bleachling gnome. That should keep any spriggans or other plants at bay." Smiling for a moment, he added, "And I almost hope we see some bees, now that you have that scroll of fireball!"
