Physical Description:
Gjoren the Hound, or just Hound to his associates, stands a few inches short of 6 feet tall. His hair is somewhere between dark brown and black, and falls below his shoulders. He has dark eyes, and smiles rarely. When he tracks, he sniffs the air, and seems to have an almost preternatural sense of smell. When he is given a task, he sees it through to the end.
Background:
Spoiler:
Born a bastard, Gjoren's father was a travelling sellsword who met his mother, spent the night, then moved on to greener pastures. His mother raised him as best she could, but when he was twelve winters old he ran away from home to join the Night Guard, an order who dedicated their lives to protecting the remote homesteads from any threat.
He was laughed at when he arrived at one of the outposts, but when he went to leave in shame several undead attacked the fort. After breaking one of the ghouls necks with his bare hands, the Night Guard decided to take him on young.
Gjoren was made the squire of Hergen, chief scout for that particular chapter of the Night Guard, and it was from him he learned to track, shoot, and live in the wilds. Hergen helped Gjoren make his own bow with such skill that it seemed to guide his hand whenever he aimed.
One evening Hergen and Gjoren were making their patrol when they were beset by brigands. Though they fought valiantly, Hergen was killed. Because he had always been a surly one to everyone but his master, Gjoren had made many enemies among his fellow Night Guards. One conspired to make it look as if Gjoren murdered Hergen in an effort to take his position as chief scout. Faced with either death or exile, Gjoren was forced from the north. For the next four years Gjoren made his way south, using his skills as a hunter and tracker to work odd jobs. Eventually he made his way to Sargeva, and is looking to the city of Cauldron to see if there is a place for him to finally call home.
