This is my Tale: I was born into a wealthy gnomish family in the port city of Ilizmagorti. My father was a talented and famous weaponsmith whose finely crafted and beautiful swords and rapiers were sold to nobles and royalty. My father taught me his craft from an early age, and beginning at age 12 he also taught me to use those weapons. He pulled me outside and said I'd learned enough to make my own living now as a weaponsmith and it was time to learn how to use a scimitar to defend myself. After many days and nights and months of bruises, and even some broken bones over the years, I got better with the scimitar, finally beating my father in a practice duel at the age of fifteen. Shortly after that, I was with a few of my friends and a gang of bandits cornered us outside a tavern and threatened us to hand over our gold or die. I pulled out my scimitar when I saw the bandit leader lunge for me, and with one deft step and swing of my sword I wounded him deeply with a slash across his belly. Seeing their leader laying dead on the street in a pool of blood and guts, the other bandit gang members ran away. After the town guards came and we told them what happend one of them pulled me aside and asked me if I knew who I'd killed. I shook my head no, so he told me it was the son of one of the major pirate lords of the city, and therefore I should watch my back from now on. After he said that he sent me and my friends home. A few weeks later my father came running into my room, telling me that I had to leave Ilizmagorti right away and board a ship. When I asked why, the only thing he did was hand me a poster with my picture on it Wanted on the top and 24,000 gold for his head on the bottom. So I headed for the port, found a ship leaving immediately that would take me aboard called the Jenivere. I set sail and have never returned home.
