I am considering going as an Arcane Archer, but I would like some help understanding the process. Currently I have a level 8 Ranger. To achieve Arcane Archer I assume I'd first have to put a level into Wizard and then another into AA. Afterwards how does it work? Do I then have to put more levels into only Arcane Archer to get the abilities or does Arcane Archer just automatically level up with Ranger? I've been told several different answers and I'd like it all to be cleared up please.
In simpler terms, are PC's just a third class to multiclass or what?

So my party has just hit level 8. I put my ability point into wisdom and I was given a headband of wisdom (+2) so that my total is 16. I was told that my spells known are equal to my Wisdom Modifier plus the spells given at my level.
At level 8 the chart says I'd have one 1st level and one 2nd level spell.
So with a 16 in wisdom, giving me a +3 modifier I assumed that I would have four 1st level and four 2nd level.
However when I informed the GM what spells I was choosing he told me that I would really only get two in each due to my low wisdom at 16. Am I missing another factor or is he wrong?

I do not think that I fully understand how enchantments work. Mainly I am confused on adding enchantments to an already enchanted item.
In a game I am in, my character uses a composite longbow with the adaptive enchantment. I came into some money and decided to make it stronger. I was thinking of adding Shock or Endless Ammunition.
Shock is a +1 and E.A is a +2. Do I just pay the amount of the level of the enchantment or do I pay the +2 cost no matter what since I already have one enchantment on it.
