History "The Star Child" -
Gilerandil's mother, Eleana Celebrinalqua {elvish - 'Silver Swan'} is from a mid-ranged Noble Elven House. Her child's birth was something not looked forward to by her family as the child's father is rumored to have forced himself upon Eleana. However, the priests of DESNA claimed that the child had been chosen by their Goddess for a special purpose and that he would become a great hero and protector of the elven peoples. House Celebrinalqua was not pleased at all, but could not abandon the child without seeming impious also as Eleana refused to abandon the child, almost as if bearing it was some penance she had taken upon herself.

Eleana was a typical elven noble a mid-ranged princess of the court. she was infamous for being an insufferably spoiled and flirtatious young elven woman... leading many lovers on only to playfully abandon them. Though her family staunchly defended her honor their were few who felt it was divine punishment for her fickle and promiscuous ways.

Despite all this her child was born under auspicious signs as a blessed child of DESNA. Elaana named him Gilerandil meaning "Lonely Wandering Star" in elvish. From childhood 'Gil' proved himself to be special almost instinctively knowing the ways of the forest. Though he continued to ask his mother never spoke of his father. House Celebrinalqua was not pleased with the bastard half-breed of a dishonorable raping - despite his innocence in the matter and heaped indignities upon him at every possible opportunity. but his mother Elaena was always there sheltering him from their unjust treatment stating, "...the boy is innocent of the ... failings and ...faults of his parents!"

Gil was constantly ostracized for his illegitimate birth and constantly the target of derision. To which he tried to excel at everything hoping to prove his excellence, loyalty and devotion to the elven peoples. As soon as he could hold a sword he trained continually trying to become a defender of all things elven. All the while his mother, Eleana, stayed by his side providing all the love and attention that a good mother could.

Eleana had changed she became introspect seeing her cruel treatment of others emotions for what it really was. All the more because within her grew a strong, fierce, love for her son. As Gilerandil grew his elven blood manifested strongly from his mother as he was quick to utilize what he had learned and fast to react - spending long hour in the forest hunting and scouting. However his father's human blood manifested as he grew tall, broad-chested, handsome {a fact that none too few elven maidens took notice of}, and almost freakishly strong.

Gilerandil was constantly seeking ways to prove himself to his elven relatives with little success. As soon as he could he joined the Kyonin military as a soldier. It was a very rough time for him as many of the elven soldiers did not trust a bastard half-breed, but slowly his boundless courage, loyalty and unquestioning devotion to his service among Queen Edasseril's soldiers gradually won the respect of his fellow soldiers. Despite his efforts House Celebrinalqua steadfastly remained adamant not even allowing him to bear the house name.

When he was just barely old enough he applied for entry into the Order of the Star, in service to the Goddess DESNA, as a squire to earn his knighthood. It did not matter to the Order his questionable birth and Gilerandil was readily accepted in and trained to be a Cavalier. It was not long that his unbridled eagerness and dedication to his training won him his spurs - as time and time again in battle and in court he proved his unshaking devotion and courage in the defense and protection of all things elven.

Eventually Queen Edasseril appointed Gilerandil as a special liaison to the kingdoms outside of Kyonin. He spent most of his time in Andoran as a mediator and contact for the elven court. It was there that he met the Andoran faction representatives that stridently sought to recruit him to their cause. By protecting the freedoms of other kingdoms from tyranny and oppressive kingdoms and trading cartels he was also protecting Kyonin as well.

Joining the Pathfinder society was a means to an end. Now he travels to many lands watchful for threats to elven interests and elven treasures scattered about the lands recovered for the elven peoples.

Still Gilerandil waits for DESNA's call to set him upon the destiny she has shaped for him.
