About Gideon Shroudwalker
Gideon is obsessed with the nature of undeath, particularly with finding a 'cure' to restore natural life. Perhaps not surprisingly, as he was born with the inescapable taint of it as a Dhampir. His parents, ex-adventurers who both were exposed numerous times to dangerous negative energy, fostered him to the Cathedral of Pharasma in Kaer Maga shortly after his shocking birth.
The teachings and accumulated lore of the clerics and acolytes fascinated Gideon. In time his obsession with undeath unnerved the clergy sufficiently to encourage him to find his own path rather than become formally ordained in the faith.
Undeterred by the subtle rejection, he now believes that he has learned as much as he can from the 'narrowminded dogmatics' and seeks deeper secrets wherever he can find them. He is not above dabbling in dark magics, all to better understand, destroy, or ultimatey cure the Undead. He is convinced that given enough opportunities and perseverence, Pharasma will ultimately reveal the secrets to him.
