Background:

Giblingus loved things from the moment he saw them as he shot forth from his mothers womb. As he grew so did this love. He loved to look at them, to learn about them, to hold them, taste them, smell, and hear them. He sure loved things.

As a teen he learned chemistry in a school. All gnomes were required to learn the basics but Giblingus was an inspired student. Within the first week he was interrupting the teacher to correct her formulas. One day she got so frustrated she yelled "Giblingus Arturo Subverzion Phil, if you know so much why don't YOU teach the class." And so he did. The youngest gnome to ever teach Chemistry and his teacher learn much.

As he grew older a time came when war threatened his people. He did not like this as his people were things, and he loved things. He set about making himself ready to fight. Without strength on his side he scoured tomes for knowledge to help him. He found knowledge, hidden in plain sight about hiding in plain sight and other techniques for becoming a ninja. He studied and practiced in his head the moves that were written down until he felt he could master them with his body. The war that had inspired him to train made it's way to his doorstep as he had feared. He helped coordinate the battle plans and fought gloriously in many battles, winning for his side with decisive strikes, all while staying elusive. He broke enemy morale and they left him and his people alone. The war was not over, but after the side of good found him they used his knowledge to great use and in a short time it was. In that time he earned himself the nickname of Gibz for reasons that need not be explained.

After the war Gibz settled down and got married. He had some kids and felt good about life. He practiced his skills and scoured book after book for new information to assimilate. Some joked that he could build a house from just the books he had stored in his current house. They were right and he had the plans on file, but that seemed a waste of perfectly good books so he hid them for another time. Time wandered on and Gibz grew older. He grew bored of his life and the drudgery of going through it over and over again all the same, or so it seemed.

One morning Gibz awoke to an alarming surprise. His toes had turned completely white. Well, that was an interesting thing. He sure wondered what that was that he had heard nothing about until now. But he was so bored and there were lots of boring books to research first so he put off finding out about his toes until 3 months later when he has scheduled to finish his current batch of research. Well he would have put it off if within the week his whole body hadn't turned completely white, which it had. He felt himself slipping mentally and worked up a quick concoction to keep himself together. He knew time was short so he read and read about what was afflicting him. He learned of the bleaching and figured the only way to break the curse was to break his repetitive lifestyle and try something he had never done before, NO, something he would never have thought to do before, Something he never would or should do. He set about making plans to murder his whole family.

As he sat there examining the still pumping heart of his beloved wife, her sobs muffled by the rag tied round her mouth, he felt the warmth flow back into his life and the color returned to all of his self. All except his left arm and leg that is. They are a constant reminder of what happened when one stops reaching for the future, reaching beyond their potential. They are also a reminder of his wife and the passion she sparked within him that fateful night. She gave her life such that he could live anew with an improved perspective on the world. He still loved thing, all things, He loved them inside and out, Alive or dead, simple or complex. One day he would know all things and then he would be forced to break new ground and build new knowledge lest the bleaching take him again. This thought drives him to succeed and gives him nightmares of it's completion.

Gibz travels the world slaying or capturing beasts of the wilds so that he can observe and learn. Sometimes they give up their secrets willingly like a sphynx who knows a match when she sees one, sometimes it's more aggressive like gathering a fresh batch of dracolisc eyes for study. He's always up for the job, or willing to offer his services to those that need them. Coin runs the world and is also a thing, and Gibz loves things.
