The spell Ignition has the manipulate trait. Which means it causes attacks of opportunity. The spell also states that it can be cast as a melee spell instead of a ranged spell. If you can do that then would that take away the manipulate trait? Casting a spell with manipulate in melee seems like a bad idea seeing as your cast could be interupted as well. So how is the spell supposed to work then? Seems like the text should offer a little more information. How do the rest of you read it?

My group is about to start a new campaign. The character I've created for it is a rock dwarf, druid, order of stone. The theme of the character is derived from the background. Essentially, he touched an elemental stone from the earth plane and had a vision which made him think that dwarves evolved from stone. Now he draws power from stone hence the druid. I've been thinking about a good archtype, geomancer seems to work best but kineticist would meld well with the theme of the character. Looking at the archtype though I don't think it would scale very well and I'd have to burn a lot of feats to get enough utility or damage out of it. Also looked at elementalist and that wouldn't really mesh very well either if im going for just an earth/stone themed ranged/caster. The problem is that I want to take an archtype because the druid doesn't have enough feats that seem to mesh well with the stone theme. So I want to take an archtype to fill the gaps of the druids feats. What do yall think? Is there a better archtype? Should I just stick with full druid? Am I overlooking something? Any help/advice is appreciated.
