Garborn begins to follow his own advice, but he makes sure to do it slowly, as to not alert the big predator.

"Careful, do like Garborn, not panic, not draw attention."

"Heh, lord is optimist, good! Need that spirit when next fight come."

Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30

"Even with victory, sound travel well in caverns, not be able to hide for long.

AoO: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

Garborn swings wildly as the Lizardman retreats, then he makes it the newest target for a lightning bolt.

Lightning Bolt: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 1) = 6

And finally, he strikes at the annoying pest that keeps PUSHING at him.

Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

AoO: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Garborn, once again using his speed to multi task, first sends another bolt of lightning into the big guy, then he strikes at the lizardman in front of him.

Ligtning boltt: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 1) = 6
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Garborn, while not the sharpest, still posses a large amount of common sense, and he quickly realizes that while taking out the largest threat is a good idea, allowing the chaff to run free as they will isn't idea as they could whittle the party down that way.
So he decides to use his newfound speed to do some whittling of his own.

So he draws and swings his great-club at the enemy in front, then at the very zenith of the arc, he lets go with one hand and snaps his fingers, sending another bolt of lightning into the large lizardman.

Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Lighting bolt: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 6) = 13

Garborn grins, holds out a fist and snaps his fingers, making sure the index finger is aimed at the big lizardman at the end.
And as he does, a strike of lighting arches down from the roof.

Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 3) = 9

Garborn isn't a man for grand plans or strategies, while not stupid, his personality is mostly made up of homespun wisdom and a gregarious personality.
As such, he quickly realizes his go to strategy isn't the most suitable at the moment, and he falls back on another simple plan.
Namely quickly take a step back to give room for Marisol and to cast another spell.

"Oh sky father, grant Garborn a measure of your wrath!"

5' step back, then call lightning.

Garborn is more than a little taken aback by the very twisted reasoning on display here.

"Erm...Garborn said we FREED them...has...has lizardman been hit in head often? Pretty stupid..."

Glancing at the others, He chuckles a little.
"Not hit this one in head, must be like rock! Gyahahahahaha!"

Garborn grins, but it's even less pleasant now.
"Kill tribe to save tribe not make sense? but, why you so sure you not have to do so now? Why you so sure they take you back? WE free them from Vesket, not you. Why you so sure they side with you over us? We've proven we can aid, you left.
Who they trust? Think hard now, ask question well."

"Wiser than Garborn? Gyahahahahaha! Foolish talk! What is wiser than druid of green faith? Garborn defend nature, but...nature also defend Garborn."

Garborn grins, but it's a less than friendly grin now.
"If enemy of Garborn, enemy of nature. Every tree, a possible trap, ever bog suddenly deep and dangerous. Every animal, spy to tell Garborn all secrets."

"Remember, tribe agree to peace with us, will Ssjarlith and S'kar honor deal?"

"Tribe deceived by corpselight, Will O' Wisp. We defeat corpselight and then Vesket. Tribe grateful, swore friendship.
Talk about alliance, but talk for later, tribe busy now, rebuilding."

It wasn't strictly true that there had been friendship sworn, but if these lizards were to rejoin the tribe, it wouldn't hurt if they thought highly of the situation from the start.

Besides, it wasn't STRICTLY untrue either now was it...

Garborns mouth movies silently as he counts the tracks.
"Hmm, Garborn count...one dozen tracks. Well, one dozen different tacks.
One here, limp in left leg, one here, bigger stride, one here, unique foot..."

Garborn chuckles a little and claps Vladimir on his shoulder in return.
"Garborn not have lords way with words, should listen closely and learn how to have silver tongue like him!"

"Not impossible, Druidic magic not as focused on healing as clerical, but we do have spells for curing diseases.
And Garborn can pray for it after rest.
Must somehow convince Ssjarith to be cured of course. Also, whole tribe, could take long time.

Garborn turns to the others, frowning slightly, an odd look on the normally jovial druids face.

"Strange tidings, tribe not a threat, treant says all tribe except Ssjarith and S'kar very sick, unable to go anywhere.
Also say Ssjarith mad, angry and sick, not likely to want to talk.
Must try, but...
Sad to say, Garborn think battle maybe not possible to avoid.

Garborn frowns, this was an unexpected turn of events.
Before speaking, Garborn considered, weighing the information he had and what it could all mean.
"Garborn think maybe been lied to, other lizards warned of Ssjarlith, called her witch, said she almost destroyed tribe.
Garborn wonder if maybe they hope we kill her...
Listen tree friend, Garborn want to speak to Ssjarlith, find out who is speaking truth.
Garborn swear, on bond as druid, will not attack Ssjarlith except to defend own life and life of friends.

Might not be wise to reveal as much as I have, but he'd have noticed if we made a lot of sounds inside.

Garborn grins and thumps a fist against his chest.

Garborn stands his ground and keeps speaking in Sylvan, seeing as how the Treant is using it as well.

Garborn frowns and runs a hand through his beard for a moment as he studies the approaching tree.

"Is not no, looks like...Treant, but sick. Look, walking confused.
While Treant normally nice, this one look confused. Might not be friendly, sick in mind.

Garborn approaches a litlte closer, ahead of the others, then he hails the Treant using it's own native language.

"Big and bold, sounds good to Garborn, most suitable to his size anyway, gyahahahahaha!"

Garborn gets down on his hands and knees for a moment sniffing at the ground like a massive bear or hound.

Standing up, he wipes his hands on his chest with a big grin and a chuckle.
"Lizard ladies cold blooded, but very affectionate if you warm."

He glances over at Nico for a moment and grins even wider.
"Like tall men, more man to warm them. Maybe no need to fight, friend Nico seduce Ssjarlith and no worries, GYAHAHAHAHA!"

Yup, let us be efficient!

"Hehe, sunny disposition! Never fear friend, if new problem comes, we just punch harder next time!"

Garborn looks back at Vladimir when he asks his question, in response he grins and hefts his greatclub over his shoulder.
"Lord has right, not have unfinished business before go to bed in town."

Garborn runs a hand over his beard and chuckles.
"Sounds like fun, more fighting to do. Where is dark oak caves? Maybe find them there, make things easy for them, sure to come for us eventually after all."

Garborn nods, it was true after all, and he didn't see much of a reason to deny it.
"Yes, Vesket kill and kidnap humans, when asked to give kidnapped child back, refused.
Vesket also servant of evil spirit. Garborn not lie, can ask shaman of tribe, will back Garborns words up."

Garborn considers for a moment, unsure if he should perhaps take the form of an animal and swim closer? But then he could not communicate...
Instead he crosses his arms over his chest, sucks in a deep lungful and calls out loudly.

"NO USE HIDING, GARBORN SEES YOU, COME, TALK!"

"Well, sometimes, taking initiative is best!"

Garborn stops his horse, climbs down, and walks over to the ripples.
He does so with a big grin, and no sign of fear at all.

"Lizardfolks? Yes, swimming under water.
Might be scouts, keeping eye on us, for now, maybe no danger, just keeping us under watch until leave territory.
Can always hope."

"Xa...Xan....Xan....thuun?"
Garborns brows furrows as he struggles to read the name for a moment, then she shrugs, not recognizing it one bit.

"No, Garborn never heard name before, also not remembering statue. Strange, hard to miss, almost as hard as Garborn himself."

"In time, with apex predator gone, other animals return, balance of life restored.
Or, maybe we turn land into farmland? Also circle of life.
Probably farmland, close enough to city, easier to protect.
Garborn also think, much fishing, seafood become staple of local diet.
Should make some good recipes for that."

"Hmm, interesting. Drake had victims already.
Looks like some need little care, but still function.
Well, we done good work again.
Guess time to continue mapping then?"

Garborn chews a piece of meat slowly and contemplates the texture as he does.
"Hmm, need tenderizing, next time fight drake, maybe kill using clubs yes? Gyahahahaha!"

"Garborn thinks Wyvern better, still not know about dragon obviously.
Meat with texture like drake, need slow cooking Garborn thinks, overnight, in beer!
Yes, chop in large chunks, fry with cream and butter, slow cook in beer, serve with currant jelly and mash made from sprouts, potatoes and onions."

Scratching his beard for a moment, he considers further.
"But not likely find drake again easily, still want to cook.
Hmm, need good replacement meat to try. Boar maybe? Yes, commission hunters to bring in whole board when get back to town.
Make meal for whole council."

"Little bit steak, little bit stew. Better that way.
Garborn not think spit roasting fun unless for big crowd, and good friends you be, but too few."

Cutting off a particularly tasty looking morsel, Garborn chuckles a little.
"Besides, we eat our fill, leave the rest to forest animals, they prefer meat raw."

As Garborn works, blood up to his elbows, he whistles merrily, clearly not bothered in the least.
"Garborn wonder, maybe one day, fight proper dragon? Of course, would eat dragon as well if so.
Compare dragon, drake and wyvern in memoirs, GYAHAHAHAHAHA!"

As the Drake falls, Garborn raises his arm high into the air.
In response, the six elementals whirl down and dance around him for a moment, sending his cloak and beard whipping in the wind while he laughs uproariously.
Then he dismisses them back to the plane of air.

"Prey, hunted."
Rubbing his hands, he grins and then retrieves his skinning knife.
"Wyvern was tasty, yes? Let us try drake now!"
