Backstory:

Born to unknown parents and left on the steps of the Temple of the Everbright Crusade, a small divergent sect of Iomedae's church, Flynn was raised to be a hero.

He trained to be a Paladin of Iomedae, almost from the time he could walk. Passing all of his trials and tests with flying colors, he 'graduated' to a Knight at an early age and was heralded as the next leader of the Fifth Crusade.

But this was apparently not to be, alas, jealousy reared it's evil head. Other participants in the trials, that didn't fare so well, brought about his downfall.
A young pregnant girl was brought forth. One who claimed Flynn as the father of her unborn child. Swore before the church that it was him.
One of the prime tenants of the faith of the Temple of the Everbright Crusade, is celibacy. To have a child, especially upon a poor peasant girl, was a vast blasphemy to them.
The church led an inquiry into the affair, and put the question to Flynn.
He asked if he could speak with the girl, alone for a few moments, Flynn pondered her, and his predicament.
Fearing that he would try something, and already half believing his guilt, they let him speak to her in the courtyard alone, but with archers upon the walls to watch.

'Why do you accuse me of something, that we both know isn't true?' He asked the girl. ' I have never lain with a woman.'

The girl burst into tears. Sniffling she replied in a whisper..
' We both know it wasn't you. But I am a poor girl with no family left. My child will have no future, without this. By myself he would be lucky to survive, and have no chance for a better life. BUT as a bastard of the Temple, he would be well cared for and raised as a Holy Knight, much like yourself.' Again she burst into tears and sniffles. 'I am soo sorry for all of this, but when Tensler offered 10 gold to do this, I had too. That's more money than I've ever seen! It will help me live a better life. And my baby, well, if the Church believes me , will have a better life than I could have ever imagined. Please, please don't prove me a liar. For my baby if not for me?'

Flynn sat and thought about this for a while, not even noticing when they came and took the girl away.
Oh Iomedae! What a choice you have pushed upon me. To be the Glorious Hero at the head of your next Crusade! Or to be exiled from the order, to save a girl I don't know and a child that isn't mine. And Tensler! Do I remain quiet? Or do I accuse him and maybe start a rift in the Order. His family was one of the Founders of our Temple.
I know what I want to do...And I guess that also tells me what I should do...

The next day, Flynn went to the head of his Order, and confessed to the crime.

The next few weeks were the worst of his life. His armor, Masterwork Fullplate, was given to the Temple Smith to be melted down and forged anew for someone else. His Honor sword, a fancy blessed longsword was broken and the pieces thrown to the scrap yard. Paraded through the town, they put him in the stocks for all the peasants to see, and throw rocks and rotten food at him. Then he was kicked out, with just the clothes on his back, and told never to return.

Hanging his head in shame, he took all of the abuse, and left, never to return.

After a year though, he missed the martial feel and camaraderie of the Temple, and still wanted to do his part in the war against the demons. Working odd jobs as a smiths helper, he slowly learned the art of the armorsmith. Working his way with mercenary companies and caravans, he eventually arrived in Kenabres, his birthplace.

Knowing that he wasn't welcome, he nevertheless checked upon his old friends to see how they fared. To his dismay, the Temple was mostly empty, with only the older servants, and a year old child in residence.
The peasant girl was no where to be seen, nor were any of the Knights.

When asked about them the head servant only replied..
' They all rode out to the Worldwound on a quest to stop some Evil plan. They were led by Tensler, the Hero of the Fifth Crusade. This was six months ago, and we haven't heard anything from them since. The money is running out and we will have to find work and homes somewhere else. The orphan boy's mother just left one day. To where we don't know. We make sure he's fed and clothed tho. And trained up some. Can't fight anymore, but I can still train 'em.'
So Flynn started using the Armory at the Temple, fixing and repairing suits of armor for the Knights and Paladins around Kenabres. Never making money, just enough to feed the group who lived there, and to pay the rentmaster his due. Other branches of the Temple have arrived and started making inquiries though, and Flynn is sure he will have to leave once again.
This time he will try his hand at killing demons.....For regardless of his Orders declarations, Flynn is still celibate, and knows his Lady still has plans for him... His ability to detect evil still works...
