Ha! this will be useful, thanks man!

This is fantastic. It looks really great and will definitely add flavor to the whole chapter! I won't be using though, being French and playing with French-speaking players who don't understand English that much. But ther people should! Thanks!

This is exactly how I envisionned it. I plan to do the very same thing! :D

So I love the idea of the PCs travelling into the jungle and facing many dangers, having to find their way beneath the canopy, avoiding dangerous creatures, facing the mold storm, struggling with the hot temperature... it provides a lot of ideas for the DM and many cool things can potentially happen. This is one of my favorite chapters in Dead Suns so far. I love the Ksariks!

But I have a question regarding something the author wrote at the beginning of this chapter : "How much time the PCs spend in pursuit not only prolongs their travel beyond their armors’ environmental protection but also grants the Cult of the Devourer more time to explore the Temple of the Twelve, prepare traps, and destroy valuable records."

Unless I read it wrong, nothing changes or depends on the time the PCs take to complete the journey. There's only a difference of XP reward. I don't really mind and I think it's meant to so that the DM can add more stuff depending on the time the trip takes, but I'd love to know your opinion. Am I missing something?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Oh right, nevermind then, thanks for letting me know.

On the cover of the book, as well as in the final piece of artwork in the AP, Tahomen seems to wield some sort of magic or sentient plantlike claw / tentacle, coming out of a jar. It looks really cool and fits the theme of Castrovel's jungle quite well. My only issue is that I don't know what it is. I've looked at the stat block multiple times and I can't really figure out what it's supposed to be.

I think this might just be for flavor: maybe it's the way his Hurl Forcedisk spell works, but I don't know for sure. It reminds me of the weapon Ferani Nadaz carries on the cover of the first book of the AP: it looks like the arm of some sort of robot or android. I just assumed it was her customized "club" and called it a day.

But the plant claw thingy coming out of the jar seems a little bit too specific to be something the artist added without talking to the author about it... What am I missing? :D

Although it's a very good album and I used to listen to it a lot a few years ago, it's not very popular so that's probably why people aren't answering. Most people don't even know who Arjen Lucassen is, I'm afraid.

Tunnel of Light could simply be a long, very long tunnel, infused with mysterious light. PCs would need to make a save against a charm effect not to be drawn to the walls of the tunnel, which could cause a burning effect and/or flame damage.

After all, "their path is incandescent"...

I hope this will help.
