Note to self: figure out if I actually had enough gold, character builder a bit dinky on that front.

Silver Crusade

It was very, very close between the Stone Lord and the Foehammer. After weighing the options I am going to go for the Foehammer. I rarely play Fighters, and I have played a lot of Paladins. I was already eying Dwarves so I am glad to hear it fits our burgeoning strategies ;-)

I will finish my build tomorrow and then we can start rolling.

Thanks for all the advice, everyone!

Silver Crusade

Right, I will spend the weekend going through all the books and poking the GM occasionally, and I will make my final choice Monday / Tuesday - and post it here.

Thanks for the advice, all!

Silver Crusade

Thanks! I have actually gone out and bought the WMH (moved to a bigger place, so I have more shelf space to fill, woe me!). It is already providing some good inspiration, and I look forward to your suggestions.

Silver Crusade

I have previously played a Cleric and Wizard (mainly in support roles), and ranged Fighter types. I favor a tactical style, and I have previously mainly been a foil and force multiplier.

I am currently going through the recent changes - thanks for pointing that out - and I am doing some preliminary work on a Bulwark style build where my main job is area denial, keeping party members safe, doing decent damage and overall degrading the enemy melee abilities while being able to take some damage in return. A bit of a new spin on the classic 'Sword and Board' build.

On the other hand, the GM whispered sweetly into my ear about the Lore Warden, as she knows about my previous skill-heavy support builds. That would mean a whole different style but worth it if the party can spare it. I am currently reading through the relevant sections of all the new material.

It'll definitively be point-build. I like rolling but I like some basic framing as I am just getting back into it. I will leave my 'what the heck will I build with these numbers' skills for the next character ;-)

Suggestions are welcome, also in regards to what would fit in the party style and current character selections.

Silver Crusade

Currently building my character, which will definatively be a fighter type. Debating a bit if I want to go for any sort of archetype or just go bog standard - it has been a while since I played Pathfinder.
