Male Human Lieutenant, Chief Medical Officer

Finn updates the medical records for Lt. Cavellera and reports back. "Yessire, he is fit for duty." He might not be suitable for StarFleet, but I assume he was vetted same as eeveryone else. Still, I think I will pop by and have a chat with the ship's counceler.

Seeing as the med bay is in good shape, O'Sullivan heads for the bridge. Might as well see what's going on up there.

Finn looks over the chart and checks the ensign. "Cavellara, how you feeling? Looks like you've used up your time to get some extra rest here."

Using his programmable hypo, Dr. O'Sullivan sets for a mild stimulant and injects the patient in the neck. "Come on now, up and about."

Male Human Lieutenant, Chief Medical Officer

"Ah, yes. Cavellara will be ok... probably just a 24-hour Varusian Virus. Should be right as rain in an hour or so more, perhaps sporting a big of a headache though. Should be back on duty shortly."

Finn notices his new acquaintance enter the medical faculties and gets up to greet him.

"Lt. McCoy, welcome to sick bay. Can we help you?"

Male Human Lieutenant, Chief Medical Officer

"Please, go about your normal duties and preparations to set sail. If you need anything, my door is always open."

Entering his office, he sits to look at his pad, reviewing his crew list and scheduled shifts.

"The romulans can be a nuisance, that's for sure. Never met one myself, though. And with luck, we won't be meeting any on this mission either. I think the captain has things well in hand, though, so have faith!"

Male Human Lieutenant, Chief Medical Officer

"Maeda, of course. My apologies. Ah, too much to drink - seen that plenty of times before. Ok, dim the lights back there for him, and we'll let him sleep it off. Hopefully that's the worst we will see in here for a good while. Carry on, and keep me posted if anything interesting occurs. I am going to sit in my office and pour over the database some more, in case I get asked any questions. By the way, have you ever met a yinayan before?"

Male Human Lieutenant, Chief Medical Officer

”Thanks you, Madea. I’ll look forward to reading your report, but tell me about our patient back there. Someone already has an injury?”

As Finn and Htun leave the meeting, Finn leans over. "Languages are more your thing, I think, but I can do some research on behaviors and mannerisms. Must be some data in the database by now."

Finn heads back to the medical bay and calls his small team together. "Looks like sick bay is in tip top shape, so let's try and keep it that way. Meanwhile, I need some assistance compiling a profile of our yinayan friends. I am interested in body language and how they might react to sounds and motions. Anything really to help us in our initial diplomacy efforts here. Also, brush up on any medical data we have. We aren't expecting to use it, but you never know."

Male Human Lieutenant, Chief Medical Officer

"I can't say I have ever considered needing to tell the difference between a vulcan and a romulan. But as we have no vulcans, it does make that particular task easier. Still, they have very similar physiology, so it could be difficult to tell the difference if one is trying to deceive."

"Meanwhile, sick bay is in tip top shape and ready for our mission."

Male Human Lieutenant, Chief Medical Officer

"It is nice to meet you, lad. Hopefully you won't need to come visit me too often, but I'll be here when you need me. Just watch yer back while yer out there. Never know what, in an alien environment, might be out to get you! They tell me it's safe, but even Earth has its dangers."

Male Human Lieutenant, Chief Medical Officer

Finn looks around, and settles on Joe. "Did I hear someone call you McCoy? Any relation to Dr. Leonard McCoy, from the early days of human space exploration? He always struck me as a god ol' country doc in over his head. Must say, I am feeling a bit of that now."

Male Human Lieutenant, Chief Medical Officer

"Aye, Captain. I am afraid to say, though, that I don't know much about the physiology of Yinayans, although perhaps that wouldn't be coming up. Still, seems I got some reading to complete, assuming Star Fleet Medical has details in the ship's database."

"What would concern me more is any communicable diseases, although dangerous atmosphere and fauna could also be present. Looks like I have plenty to keep me busy while on route."

Male Human Lieutenant, Chief Medical Officer

Yep - sorry I missed us starting.

Dr. O’Sullivan looked around absent-mindedly, looking for his assigned seat. Being back on a star base was a little disorienting. How much worst will it be on that tiny ship?
