OK, I've finally added Straehan's changes and addition. Here's the discrepancies I'm trying to resolve:
.
.
.
.
- CMB/D appear to be off.
CMB = 3 BAB + 0 Str - 1 small = +2
CMD = 10 + 3 BAB + 0 Str + 3 Dex - 1 small = 15
I suspect what is happening is that his size modifier got added to CMD rather than being subtracted from it. (Armor and Natural bonuses shouldn't add to CMD as far as I can tell.)
- Perception already showed Strae as having 3 ranks. If that was incorrect then there's a +2 bonus that I'm missing:
4 ranks + 3 class + 1 wis + 2 gnome = +10
- Sense Motive looks like it only had 1 rank in it peviously, not 2. I've set it at 3 ranks to maintain the +7.
- By my count it looks like you should have 1 more skill point to spend on Straehan (assuming you spent +2 on SM instead of +1).
Copypasta eh? Too good to hang out with us ShortKeys junkies is that it? ;P
OK, gotcha. Just for the record then, I'm perfectly OK with you making reaction type rolls for Fin, etc. that's actually part of the reason why I put the Party Matrix together for all the games we've been in.
Whiiich I just realized I need to update with Straehan's changes. (Doh!)
Init 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Justin: Do you want us to start waiting on you to ask for rolls? i.e. Is us rolling initiative a policy/conventions change?
Doesn't Ushari already understand 'skittish' though? :D
At Jayse's question, Fin tries to determine exactly how far away the voices are and if there is any chance they can make it in a single charge.
She then turns to Straehan and asks him to translate:
Assuming that it is too far to charge (either due to distance or terrain), she'll put her finger to her lips and stealth using the wheat for concealment and taking advantage of her expeditious retreat to cover as much ground as if she was moving normally (i.e. 60-ft/round).
Once in range, she'll finally charge and attack hoping to end this quickly before the enemy has a chance to react. She goes after the biggest, toughest male enemy first.
Perception 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18
Stealth 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
Whoosh 1d20 + 10 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 10 + 2 - 2 = 29 charge, power attack
crit? 1d20 + 10 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 10 + 2 - 2 = 22 maybe
threat only 10 + 5 + 6 = 21 2H power attack
critical hit 10 + 1d10 + 10 + 12 ⇒ 10 + (2) + 10 + 12 = 34 2H power attack
In a panic, Fin looks at the others and hisses, "Man eaters!" and points out the direction.
She then begins to cast spells upon herself so that she can rush to the women's aid.
Fin will cast Expeditious retreat followed by shield.
Not sure if it would reveal anything else, but humans are Fin's favored enemy. She gets a +2 bonus when tracking them (when relevant).
Furious though she is to see that the woman is slain when all she wanted was no doubt to simply live, Findelgwing is at least relieved to see that she died with her skin still on her body. At least these pirates had not sunk to that level of depravity.
Fin bites her lip a bit before turning to Straehan, a solemn expression on her pretty face.
Fin relates her findings to the rest of the party.
In training so can't be verbose.
Findelgwing nods and takes up her pack, ready to move out with Jax and Porter helping to show the way. Having the furthest sight and the best eye for tracking, the tall ranger takes point keeping her longbow, Twang, in hand as you move.
I keep wanting to say Jackson Porter when thinking of the NPCs. :D
Fin smells the curious, hot beverage, smells the enticing aroma, and notes that Ushari at least seems to really enjoy it. She looks towards Jayse and Straehan for a moment as if looking for approval before giving a short exhale of determination and shaking her head.
"Fin try?" she asks, looking at the old miner.
After a deep draught (which is immediately followed by rapid breathing as she scorches her tongue and palette), Fin hands her mug to Ushari. With brow furrowed she asks with a pout, "Go now?" clearly chagrined that Ushari passed the test that she could not.
Fin nods in agreement with Jayse and gives the old miner a thumbs-up.
Findelgwing stands still for a moment, not quite certain what to think about what Straehan had to say. She considered what implications that could have on hunting, or sharing watches, or anything else for that matter. Up until now, it seemed like everyone just pretty much did whatever seemed necessary without anyone needing to ask or tell. Was that it then?
The tall elf nods and repeats after Straehan, this time in common, "Understand!"
Fin seems a bit confused about whatever it was that just happened between the two humans. Not knowing any way to phrase what she's trying to ask in the common tongue, she turns to Straehan and lets loose what is seeming a single, endless word. You think you can maybe understand 'Forestal', 'Jayse, and 'Shari' in there somewhere.
She pauses and takes a deep breath.
Sense Motive 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
Findelgwing blinks in surprise and points to herself. "Am a zon?"
Deducing that he's being playful again, she instead focuses on the rest of what he has to say rather than focusing on what a 'zon' is. At last understanding dawns on her youthful face as she gets what he's saying. "Oooh... Fin rescue ranger..."
She gives a wry laugh and puts the heel of her palm to her forehead while mussing Straehan's hair with her other hand. After shaking her head at herself, she gives him a hug and a kiss on the forehead.
Findelgwing hugs Straehan close (being careful not to crush him) and nods slowly. Although she says, "Oh kay," her tone would suggest she isn't terribly convinced even if she is relieved by her little brother's chipper attitude.
Closing her eyes for a moment and taking a deep breath, she says, "Fin ran away..."
Sense Motive 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 2 = 17 fave
While Fin can tell that Jayse and Ushari's comments about dead girls and mermaids was supposed to be some kind of joke, she shakes her head unable to make sense of it. Still, seeing that the sea's bounty brought a satisfied smile to Straehan's face does make her feel a bit better about things. At least she could take care of his little belly.
Although she never doubted for a minute what their next goal needed to be, it is a comfort to see that everyone is in agreement, and that Little Brother is still willing to come along after what happened.
As the two humans get their gear in order, the tall elf girl takes a knee next to the gnome, her attempt at not pouting instead making it seem like something is upsetting her stomach. In a quiet voice, she says, "Fin apologize. Fin sorry."
Fin thinks for a moment, gaze swinging from Ushari to Straehan. Noticing they have no food before them, she gets to her feet and picks up her bow. "Food? Find girls."
With that, she takes off to the beach to procure their breakfast from the sea's bounty. Apparently the hunting and fishing here is VERY good!
Survival 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 10 + 2 = 32 fave terrain
Fin's lip curls at the smaller woman's remarks. "Hell what, 'Shari?!"
She sits down in a huff and mutters, "Fin not piggy..."
Findelgwing waves back and suddenly realizes that she should probably finish getting dressed instead of sailing around in just her chemise. Using the sail as a privacy screen, she quickly hops into her breeches, pulls on her boots, slides into her vest and splashes some water into face to wake herself up.
A few moments later, she is walking across the sand towards wherever the small woman was headed. Upon seeing Straehan, she stops for a moment, happy to see that he's alright, but unsure of what to say. She waves hesitantly. "Hi, hi..."
Party matrix is updated for Fin, Jayse, and Ushari.

While the other more sociable members of the group tend to the villagers, Fin walks off on her own. Although she is glad that they were able to help and that Straehan survived, she doesn't have the heart to face him right now — not after having run away. Instead, she simply taps Ushari on the shoulder and says, "Fin get Mako," leaving the other girl to her own thoughts.
As she walks, the tall elf girl reflects on the two who got away, how Straehan was laid out, how they got ambushed, on the strange ghost woman they encountered, and on the other elves who had attacked her. Although Jayse, Straehan, and Ushari where the first people she had every met outside of her own family, she had always just taken for granted that those who looked like her must naturally be friendly and those who didn't...
Well, the old man, Buli, and the people of Forestal had proved to her that not all humans were vile, murdering rapists. Still, she never imagined other elves would engage in such behavior. Was that the reason why her family had lived alone for all those decades? Was it to isolate themselves away from cruel and unpredictable outsiders?
Outsiders...
The very thought was absurd. If anyone here was an outsider, it was her; this wasn't even her home planet! She looked up at the unfamiliar stars towards the one the old woman, Isolde, had called Eowynnane — Elsemar, her home...
Well, as much of a home as a place could be with no friends or family. Still, even though she wished to help the people of this world to protect themselves from their own Reavers, it was the Reavers on Elsemar that deserved her vengeance.
As she came upon their small craft, for a moment the girl considered heading back south to find that strange gnome, Itty Biti. But no... It wouldn't be right to leave the others stranded like that. It was more than the fact that they had depended on her in the past, she needed to find a way to make things right with her little brother too.
Once she had the Mako pushed back into the water again, she knew it was only a short trip back to the camp. With what time there was, she stripped out of her now-tattered clothes and began using the meager magical tricks Straehan had helped her to discover to clean and patch them until they were whole again.
At least the sea was unchanging... No matter how violent a storm, or how tall a wave might pass, she could always depend on it going back to normal. Making sure the Mako was beached on the sandbar, the wreck of the pirate ship obscuring it, the naked elf girl decided to indulge in one of her favorite pasttimes, a moonlit swim.
After some time, with weariness finally catching up to her, the lithe girl finally stepped back onto land, clean and refreshed, the smell of salt still clinging to her. It didn't take long for her to dry off, she was becoming more adept at commanding the wind. Slipping on just her long shirt and curling up in a blanket, arms wrapped around the ray skin scabbard bearing her father's sword, Findelgwing finally nodded off for the night, gazing at the world of her birth far above. Maybe in the morning she would be able to face Straehan...

Gah, why is it that I can't just go to bed and be still... >.>
So Ultimate Magic finally arrived at my place Friday. Even though the Magus looks cool, it doesn't look like the right fit for Fin. Why? They ended up making it a spell-preparation, Int-based class which is rather contrary to how I see Findelgwing. :-\ Oh well, my apologies for all the fuss I raised over this class in the past...
At any rate, I noticed that they now actually have a Djinni sorcerer bloodline. Since Fin's father was a Djinni, I'd like to change her bloodline to reflect this. The interesting thing is there is a LOT of overlap between the Elemental Air and Djinni bloodlines. In fact, as of 4th level, the ONLY difference I can see between them is the bloodline spell gained at 3rd level: burning hands (as electicity-only for Air) vs. shocking grasp (for Djinni).
Since I've already used Burning Hands (and if Fin's close enough to touch someone she'd just use Whoosh), what I'd like to do is switch to the Djinni bloodline while keeping Burning Hands (as electricity only). Please let me know if that's cool or not.
Also, after looking over the Ranger archetypes for some time now and thinking on Fin's ineptitude when it comes to communication, the spirit ranger is really appealing to me. Since the skirmisher's replacement abilities don't start until 5th level and the spirit ranger's start a 4th, that means there are no pre-existing abilities like spells, etc. to reconcile. As such, since there's nothing to retcon, I'm just going to officially make the choice (finally).

Right now I've got the skill points and ability score changes noted on the party matrix, but I'll have to update her Paizo profile when I have more time. Hopefully I'll finish this dress Sunday and be able to resume posting more...
Gonna take a while before I can get to this as I'm trying to finish work on a dress commission this weekend. The only reason I knew we dinged is because Eric just told me. Neither RSS nor the new post indicator on the boards showed anything new in here since my last post about the auto-linker. >.>
I'm in favor of tracking down the pirate who followed after Boo. That alone shows me that the knave hasn't given up and tried to distance himself from a life of crime.
Findelgwing frowns and wonders if there is at least time to track down and end the two pirates that got away...
Findelgwing looks at Jayse and shrugs before giving Ushari the thumbs-up.
It would be Fin's preference to put the mage to the sword as well. Since she's a sorceress and not a wizard, she can cast expeditious retreat a couple more times yet meaning she can move at a decent speed while doing so. Failing that, it should be a simple matter for her to run down the human pirates.
Track 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 9 + 2 = 24 fave
Seeing the elf rise to his feet, Fin points her blade at him and shouts, "MINE!"
In the next instant, she charges seeking to end the traitor's life in one blow.
Whoosh 1d20 + 8 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (11) + 8 + 2 - 1 = 20 charge, power attack
dmg 1d10 + 5 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 3 = 11 2H power attack
Feeling the tide of the battle turn, Findelgwing's blade calls out for her to attempt a new attack was not yet familiar with. She steps forward, an electrical charge forming along the length of the weapon and swings it in a broad arc before her unleashing a cracking burst of energy!
Translation: Move to V49, cast burning hands as an electricity spell using her sorcerer bloodline power. Reflex DC 14 half.
dmg 3d4 ⇒ (2, 2, 3) = 7 electricity
Ah ok, redacting stuff usually bugs me so didn't want to go gumming things up.
Fin decides to make an opening for Jayse by taking out the pirate to Boo's SW R44. She then moves up next to Ushari X52, drawing Whoosh as she steps up to bat.
Twang 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 2 = 26 fave

Does Fin have a clear line-of-fire at either the elf in the tree or the western-most pirate by the mage?
Findelgwing draws a bead on the pirate and waits until Jayse and Ushari are ready so that they can all unleash at the same time.
Miss 20% 1d100 ⇒ 23 ok
Twang 110' 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Maybe because Fin's spell selection is thematically based around elemental wind? Invisibility seemed like a stretch for someone who is still figuring out her abilities so I went with ones that I figured would be more intuitive.
Mind you, based off the heavy amount of stealth we've been using here though and that her last bonus SP went into Stealth, I could see the concept of invisibility occurring to her soon.
I'd say we do it with one person sneaking over at a time. First person to go should be the stealthiest. They'll then guard the exit to make a readied attack or AoO on anyone who pokes their head out. After that, the next person comes over until we are all there.
Justin: Let's go ahead and have Findelgwing refresh her spells while still at a safe distance then. I'll mark them off on her tracking sheet...
Perception 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20 +2 humans
Stealth 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Survival 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27 +2 humans
I've updated the Party Matrix with everyone's choices. It is denoted by a (X+1) for the skill ranks.
Correct, I want to keep to the forest to reduce line of sight for any lookouts. I figure we can approach along the cliffwall that is east of the cave entrance.
Findelgwing uses her message cantrip to answer, "Fin lead."
She then slips out of hiding and begins leading the others back towards where she suspects the cave entrance was, explaining it was north-west of where they fought.
Perception 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29 +2 humans
Stealth 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Survival 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13 +2 humans
Already did. Is the load-balancing bug causing the update not to show for you?
Findelgwing wrote: +10 Stealth (3+1) 2K bonus
Fin's 2000-post skill point is going into Stealth since that's what she's been doing the most of.

Nameless Villain wrote: ...there was 19 of us before you came along." Upon overhearing the lieutenant's words, Fin thinks back trying to count how many she took out or wounded. There was the human she split in two at the camp and the elf shortly after him. Then in the woods she slew one of the bosses, and yet another elf.
Four...
Of the few humans who got away, she knew that one was hurt fairly badly from her bow, but not enough to drop him.
For his part, she knew Straehan burned one to death and that the other two were in wretched condition when she was forced to retreat. She wondered how many Ushari and Jayse had taken out. There were clearly two dead men on the ground nearby plus the tied-up man they were interrogating. Jayse had also killed off the look-out, Crow, earlier that day.
By her reckoning that was 7 dead and 12 to go, 3 of whom were injured pretty badly. As Ushari heals them yet again, she wonders if the injured pirates would still be injured if they were to give pursuit right now. And how many spells did the man in the robes still have at his disposal...?
OK, read thru the combat a couple times now. Here's the kill tallies that I've observed:
F: 2 elves, 1 boss, 1 human
J: 2 elves, 1 boss, 1 human
S: 1 elf
U: —
This means we've got an uninjured wizard along with another 9 pirates, who could either be injured or healed by this point. Do we try to mount another assault before they can finish regroup and re-prep spells (knowing that U is running out of healing), or do we ourselves regroup which would also allow the enemy to recharge?
Fin whispers to Ushari and nods at the pirate boss saying, "Ask 'got heals?'"
Sense Motive 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 9 + 2 = 28 fave
The elf watches the pirate's reaction, primarily trying to discern if he's being truthful about their number and whether or not they have access to healing magic.
Just then the mage comes walking up, right? RIGHT?
"Thank," Fin says, nodding to the short woman. She steps a few feet away, seeking to blend in with the surroundings to better keep watch for trouble, bow at the ready. Should any foe dare to show their face or the downed man get any bright ideas, she'll be ready to plant a shaft in their flesh.
Perception 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
Stealth 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Twang 110' (readied) 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 6 + 2 = 27 fave
dmg 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 fave
O_o; Whoa!
Fin shakes her head and wonders why the hell Ushari is just standing there with her hands in her pockets when she and Jayse are obviously in A Bad Way™. Was she distracted by the pirate scum that refused to die?
Holstering her bow momentarily, she winces, readying Whoosh to finish the bastard and hopefully get Ushari's attention back on focus. At Jayse's question, she shakes her head 'no'. "Strae say run. Fin run."
She hefts her blade, "Fin hunt."
At Ushari's question, Findelgwing's face contorts in anguish and she lets her arrow fly, teeth clenched. She lowers her head and her shoulders slump. With anxiety in her voice she says, "Dun knooow..."
Seeing that Ushari has her hands full killing a pirate, Fin swaps out for Twang and motions for the girl to step back so she can free up her schedule. Yet it's clear from the way she grimaces as she pulls back her bowstring to fire that she's in quite a lot of pain.
Twang 110' 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 2 = 13 fave, should be at least another +5 considering the guy is at Dex 0 right now.
dmg 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 fave
Perception 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
Wary for any more bastards lurking in the trees, Findelgwing walks up to the others. She then points to the jagged gash in her back and gasps a single word, "Heal!"
Judging by the amount of blood on her and on Whoosh, it looks like she's been rather busy.
