Dravis: Ah yes I feel your pain. I believe I helped cover that gap with a feat from the advanced book that boosted a dwarves natural save against magic, also the prestige class stalwart defender has a high base save. eventually his only weakness was reflex, and since reflex saves are normally just damage he could weather them. also consider the alternate dwarven racial trait that gives you spell resistance. IF we're both lucky enough to get chosen, fiddle will be very good at keeping magic off of you. he's an offensive, mind effecting caster, and he'll make sure the enemy is on the ground gibbering nonsense before you are lol
Ebonnard: You should look under the ultimate combat feats and the stalwart defender abilities. usually when an enemy see's a 'tank', they just take out their squishier, higher dps allies. however...if you had an ability that FORCED them to attack you...or if you could take hits for adjacent allies...
Hello DM Corvus! Fiddle Hixblitz, half mad cleric of Groetus for your consideration. Was originally made for a level one game so I'll revamp him if the idea is liked. Quick scan of his background reveals that his teacher tried to open a portal to the void that sucked up Fiddle (not his real name) and trapped him there for 10 years. Emerging, he no longer remembered anything of his former life, or really of life at all. Focuses on debuff and mind affecting magic. Love to hear thoughts on him Also, since Groetus is a demigod under Pharasma, he would have a vested interest in keeping the balance
Also, just throwing in my two cents about monks. The idea is that if everybody is well prepared, the monk is less useful in open combat. The big bonus is that the monk doesn't need ANYTHING to be good, he can go from dead asleep to ass-kicking in a half a second...while the fighter puts on his armor, the wizard complains about no spells, the rogue has to try to hide and get their weapon out. But ya, in open, well prepared combat monks are underpowered
Rise of the Runelords is a game that's been highly recommended to me but i've never managed to get in, I'd love to play it. Council of theives and Kingmaker are also very high on my list. Also this is a character I've been wanting to play, a half-mad cleric of Groetus who(due to some accident by his old master) spent 10 years of his life in the void, where he barely managed to keep his mind together
Also according to the players guide, there's rumors that Pharasma keeps ancient secrets there. MORE REASON TO GO!!! Also I checked back and noticed you want a campaign trait, should I change one of either Defy Madness or Without a Past? I like both of them, but taking the Stowaway trait might be lolzy

More Detailed Background:
He was originally for a 6th level game, I changed the mechanics just not the listing. The sword cane was mostly for flavor, cus as you can notice he really won't be in melee much, i'll replace it with something. Also i'll replace the age scores
Not sure if you read the updated background, but he generally continues to serve Groetus because he believes that's who it was that saved him from the void. He was about 12 when he was found in Varisian Bay, and he was brought to Sandpoint where he spent his young life working on the ships to raise enough money to support himself. Fiddle once saved a damsel in distress from the notorious "Chopper" (in sandpoint history) although Fiddle had to run to quickly save his own hide as well. Since then he got a little more attention from the nobles who helped him out and were curious of his background. After that Fiddle was well off enough that he could explore the world, attempting to find out if he ever had a life before he was found out in the bay. It's been about 35 years, but Fiddle is used to a timeless existence so he isn't even weary of searching. He boarded the Jenivere in hopes of searching a new land where he might find answers. Ok, think I might have got it covered lol, hows that?
ok so i found some of the best traits ever for fiddle. Without a Past is a great one, and also Defy Madness I'll work on my post-void accident background tomorrow, it's almost 1am here, gimme your thoughts tho!
oh i'm sorry i should have layed that out more clearly, my TUTOR served pharasma, i serve Groetus. Groetus is a lesser god under Pharasma. and yes, because of DM evilness, please make my background :D edit:Groetus Link He's a chaotic nuetral god that serves pharasma and will apparently "clean up" when reality ends to prepare for the next reality. also it says madmen serve him :D
Awesome! as its about midnight i won't be finishing it tonight, but tomorrow evening i should have the details up. its an interesting character, but unfortunately i'm not super familiar with the geography and history of this fantasy world, so i might need a little guidance. generally my idea is there was a cleric of pharasma (cus groetus serves her) who was attempting to tap into the void. doing so he failed badly, causing some sort accident that bent Fiddles mind and he has no recollection of the first 20 years of his life, including his original name of if he even had family. edit: also don't worry, i wont even have that ability. im taking a subdomain that replaces it (nightmare). also i'll have to choose another domain other than liberation...hmm...perhaps void? that's certainly a domain that isn't used much |
