Ability Descriptions:
Fecund Familiar-A swarm monger bonds with an urban familiar, treating her druid level as her wizard level for the purposes of determining her familiar’s abilities. The swarm monger must select her familiar from the following options: cat, house centipede, rat, raven, or scarlet spider. The fecund familiar gains the benefits of its master’s child of pollution, shadowy opportunist, and venom immunity class abilities. As a standard action, a swarm monger can cause her familiar to burst forth into a full swarm of identical creatures, filling four contiguous 5-foot squares and gaining temporary hit points equal to half its master’s maximum hit points. While in swarm form, the familiar loses the improved evasion, share spells, deliver touch attack, and scry on familiar special abilities. It uses its normal AC, saving throws, and skill bonuses, and it gains the swarm subtype and the ability to make swarm attacks (dealing 1d6 points of damage at 1st level and using the swarm monger’s druid level as the swarm’s Hit Dice to determine damage increases as per the swarm subtype). The swarm monger is immune to her own familiar’s swarm attack. Beginning at 5th level, any creature damaged by a fecund familiar’s swarm attack must succeed at a Fortitude saving throw (DC = 10 + 1/2 the swarm monger’s druid level + the swarm monger’s Wisdom modifier) or be sickened for 1d6 rounds. At 12th level, creatures that fail their Fortitude saving throws instead become nauseated. A swarm monger can transform her familiar into a swarm a number of times each day equal to her Wisdom modifier (minimum 1), and the transformation lasts for 1 minute per druid level, or until the swarm monger reverts her familiar back to a singular form as a standard action. A fecund familiar cannot be reduced in size to Diminutive or smaller when in swarm form. Trackless Step-a druid leaves no trail in natural surroundings and cannot be tracked. She may choose to leave a trail if so desired. Appearance and Personality
Having little experience with culture, Felixe often acts strange by human standards. She is prone to bouts of manic energy followed by periods of staring into space, or simply sleeping. Years spent hiding from humans have left her somewhat linguistically naive, but she excels at reading body language. She tends to be blunt to a fault. Her new friends have been teaching her about restraint and not always saying or doing what's on her mind. Background:
Background Felixe doesn't recall having parents at any point. She assumes she must have had some at some point. But she's been on her own since she was a young child. Well, not exactly, on her own: she's always had the cats. She learned how to live life as an essentially feral child, but the cats have taught her many things. One of the most important lessons is that the strong prey on the weak. And so she has struggled through her life to become one of the strong. And when she wasn't strong enough, she learned to be crafty instead. When she was a little older, she was approached by a particular cat. The cat said her name was Katya, and if she wanted it, she could help Felixe navigate this world and open her to new power. Although she was still young, Felixe was saavy enough to know that most cats don't speak human languages, let alone offer you things. But it was also an extremely tempting offer. "How does a cat give me power?" she asked the creature. "Oh, I'm not just a cat, dear. I'm a vessel, an extension if you will, of a much more powerful being. But I need a link to your world to operate. We will make a fearsome pair, you and I. What do you say?" From that point on, Felixe became something to be feared. There were rumors around the streets of Kaer Maga of a young girl, surrounded by cats, haunting the alleys and slums. Some said she was a ghost, others a demon. She became a living legend and something of royalty among the wretched and down-trodden. For it was whispered that those who knew their place before her, would be rewarded. And woe to those who tried to take advantage of the poor. Eventually those whispers led to a group of Pathfinders coming to investigate. After a few rough patches, they introduced themselves and told her of the Pathfinders' mission. Thinking that sounded like an interesting change, she followed them back to Absalom, and became a pathfinder herself. |
