Oh item, you are my best friend. I would wear you on a boat, I would wear you in my coat.
I find you well written, well-designed, and scarily inspired.
I love my item, but I love you as well and if we come up together...I promise to give you a second and maybe third thought.
I dunno guys, some of you seem like you're really fishing here, I think it's time we were fin-ished with this flood of puns.
Wait, how many times can we vote?
So if we submit, can we vote?
Thanks for the welcome Curaigh ;) happy to be here. When I submit my actual piece for consideration, should I use this name since its quite different or use a different alias btw?

Ok I'm flooding this place with posts but I have some spare time and you guys are all being extremely helpful. Jacob, after looking over your past entries I spiced it up a bit.
Glitter Pouch
Aura faint conjuration; CL 3rd
Slot none; Price 7,800 gp; Weight 1 lb.
Description
This leather pouch is filled with brightly twinkling dust that swirls and shifts constantly like quicksand.
The pouch contains three doses of a golden powder which can be thrown into a square as an attack against AC 5. When thrown the dust settles to the ground, revealing invisible creatures. On a successful hit the creature is affected by the spell glitterdust (Will DC 14 negates blind) and on a miss it still reveals their tracks. The powder may also be spread over a square as a full round action in order to look for footprints.
The pouch contains enough powder for three attacks and regains a charge every 24 hours. However, if left open and undisturbed in a particularly dusty area (such as an ancient ruin, a desert, or a sawmill, etc.) the pouch regains its charges at a rate of one per hour.

Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, glitterdust; Cost 3,900 gp
Jacob W. Michaels wrote: This still doesn't really work for me. "If the user selects an unoccupied square" isn't really a game mechanic, at least not how Paizo would write it. I would research thrown splash weapons and copy their wording. I also don't know what that means that the dust settles to the ground and acts as a fine powder. This comes from Ultimate Equipment, a basic item called "Powder" that you can throw to see invisible creatures. My item is meant to serve basically as a mid-tier multi tool for spotting invisible enemies. Ill change it to be more like the secondary of that item, "A much more effective method is to spread powder on a surface (which takes one full round) and look for foot prints," UE 70.
I just felt that spreading it was useless unless it was at a range, as most of the time spreading powder needs to be planned ahead of combat which made me feel a good combo of this item with a limited glitterdust would be handy and fill a nice niche.
Hey I made the changes, hows it look?

If there is a save, it should be listed in the item description (see Necklace of Fireballs).
Made the change thanks! How does this look:
Glitter Pouch
Aura faint conjuration; CL 3rd
Slot slotless; Price 7800 gp; Weight 1 lb.
Description
This belt pouch contains three doses of a golden powder which can be when thrown at a single target (concealment still applies) at a +5 bonus as a ranged touch attack with an increment of 30 feet. If the user selects an unoccupied square, the dust settles to the ground and acts as a fine powder and on a successful hit, the creature is affected by the spell glitterdust, (Will DC 14 negates). The pouch contains enough powder for three attacks and regains a charge every twenty-four hours. However, if left open and undisturbed in a particularly dusty area (such as an ancient ruin, a desert, or a sawmill, etc.) the pouch regains its charges at a rate of one per hour.
Construction
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, glitterdust, mage hand ; Cost 3900 gp

Petty Alchemy wrote: Why Mage Hand? Why Illusion? Glitterdust is conjuration. Why 65 ft? A ranged touch attack (no save) to blind is very powerful, this will only get stronger the higher level the game is (as seen with gunslinger accuracy).
I do like the twist on recharge, it's flavorful and makes sense. That said, Jacob is right, you've ended up with a SiaC.
With some revision it would be printable, but it wouldn't blow me away in Superstar.
so more like:

Wouldnt it have a save as well as I said it is affected "as the spell"? should I put that in the descriptor? also, I did mage hand for the +5 so as to balance it for higher levels, as if the mage hand delivered the spell compared to the player. Should I then use mage hands range? And thanks for pointing out the magic type :)

Hey all! Jacob redirected my here from another thread. First year submitting and I have an actual item to submit but I originally wanted to submit the one below. However, I was told it's too "spell in a can" and that the Tar and Feather Feather Token already fulfilled its role. Please note the unique recharge, single target, halved range increment, and touch attack (with concealment) changes. Looking for feedback!

Also 65 is half of the range increment of glitterdust, to reduce its effectiveness as compared to the spell ;)
Thanks Jacob! All taken to heart. Could I message you my actual submission work for you to take a look at?
Also, if this needs to go elsewhere please let me know ;)
