Trusting Saphina to handle the one zombie for a few moments, Faroris continues to focus on backing up Fenri, throwing another beam of crackling energy at the zombie she's fighting. Eldritch Blast on brown: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 6

Giving a little sigh of relief as the scream confirms that the girl is alive, Faroris continues to focus on helping Fenri. Once again, he raises his fist, this time looking like he punches at the air as he releases the blast of green energy at the zombie. Eldritch Blast on green: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 3
Male Half-elf CG Fiend Warlock 1 | AC: 13 | HP: 10/10 | Init: +2 | Perception +2
With Saphina now protecting the girl, Faroris turns his attention to the closer fight around Fenri. Raising his fist once again, he shoots out another beam of that crackling green energy. Eldritch Blast on green: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 7
Male Half-elf CG Fiend Warlock 1 | AC: 13 | HP: 10/10 | Init: +2 | Perception +2
As the girl goes down, Faroris snarls out, "Get away from her!" This time, he points his fist at the one attacking the girl, yet again releasing a beam of crackling, sickly green energy. Eldritch blast at red: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 6
Male Half-elf CG Fiend Warlock 1 | AC: 13 | HP: 10/10 | Init: +2 | Perception +2
Stepping forward quickly, Faroris crouches down behind one of the pieces of debris, then raises his fist again. Another blast of the crackling, sickly green energy last is out in the direction of another of the dinosaurs. Eldritch Blast on green: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 3
Male Half-elf CG Fiend Warlock 1 | AC: 13 | HP: 10/10 | Init: +2 | Perception +2
There isn't even an instance of hesitancy from Faroris. The moment he sees what is happening, he moves forward to push his way past the gate and into the pens. "Hey!" He extends his fist, and a beam of crackling sickly green energy flies out, as he tries to hit one of the zombie dinosaurs. "Bigger meal over here!" Eldritch Blast attack on Blue: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 Force Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 3

Faroris quickly scrambles off the dinosaur after it finally stops, relaxing when he's back on solid ground. Did you do that? he silently thinks towards his patron. But, not expecting a response he turns his attention back towards his teammates. "Bit of a rough ending, but that was fantastic!" He doesn't really have much gear, just a pack of supplies, so he's quick to step up onto the elevated platform. Politely, he joins the applause for the blue team. Then, as the one member of the red team makes the aggressive move, he twitches a finger with a grin, but doesn't do anything. He simply settles back, watching the medallions and trophy being awarded, though this time he doesn't applaud. When it's finally their turn, he steps forward with the others.
Male Half-elf CG Fiend Warlock 1 | AC: 13 | HP: 10/10 | Init: +2 | Perception +2
Immediately cheering up, Faroris laughs and starts to give a cheer as they cross the finish line, but then has to scramble for grip as a dinosaur continues to run crazy. "What's going..." Dex save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19 "...on? Why isn't it stopping?" he yells to Saphina. He had only seen Scramsax fall, not why, apparently.
Male Half-elf CG Fiend Warlock 1 | AC: 13 | HP: 10/10 | Init: +2 | Perception +2
Faroris gives a shout as the halfling falls, but there isn't much you can do, so he again turns towards the closest of the opponents, snapping his whip again to try to throw off the other team. Dexterity to attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Male Half-elf CG Fiend Warlock 1 | AC: 13 | HP: 10/10 | Init: +2 | Perception +2
Faroris turns towards the red dinosaur again, switching up to attack. He snaps his whip towards the red team's dinosaur, trying to throw it off. Dexterity to attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 I couldn't think of anything that wouldn't be very obvious cheating. If anybody else has an idea, go for it!
Male Half-elf CG Fiend Warlock 1 | AC: 13 | HP: 10/10 | Init: +2 | Perception +2
Faroris wobbles as the triceratops veers around, but after a moment he regains his balance and steadies himself, raising an arm as he waits and then snaps the whip towards anybody who tries to attack them. Defending Dexterity: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Male Half-elf CG Fiend Warlock 1 | AC: 13 | HP: 10/10 | Init: +2 | Perception +2
Faroris grins towards Sashah as the lock clicks open, and then he's through, climbing up onto the triceratops. Making a quick decision, he reaches for one of the whips, and says, "I'll try to keep them off of us if they catch up. I'll probably need help." Defending this round.
Male Half-elf CG Fiend Warlock 1 | AC: 13 | HP: 10/10 | Init: +2 | Perception +2
Faroris nods to the instructions as he quickly makes his way onto the new dinosaur. "Got it." As they start to move out into the bay, Faroris takes a moment to pull on his goggles as well, tying them tight to his head. "I'm not a good swimmer, but better if we work together." Using the Help action, to try to give Saphina advantage for finding the bricks. I really have no idea if, in 5e, that requires a roll but just in case, I'll put one below. Investigation for Help action: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

Ah! Okay. :) Faroris swings past but misses the ribbon by quite some distance. He glances back towards those behind him, but then swings around, coming at his ribbon again. "Come on, a little closer." Check 2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Male Half-elf CG Fiend Warlock 1 | AC: 13 | HP: 10/10 | Init: +2 | Perception +2
Faroris practically jumped out of his chariot, hurrying the steps over to the pterodactyl, and climbing into the saddle. He nods to the instructions, and says, "Understood. Thanks." Moments later, he's flying, reaching out to try to catch a ribbon. Sleight of Hand: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Male Half-elf CG Fiend Warlock 1 | AC: 13 | HP: 10/10 | Init: +2 | Perception +2
Following the others, Faroris looks around as they get outside, waving to the crowd with a smile. After a moment, he climbs into his chariot, commenting, "This will probably be a bit easier to keep from falling off of." As soon as the signal is given, and the track is clear of children, Faroris flicks the reins to start moving. First leg: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Male Half-elf CG Fiend Warlock 1 | AC: 13 | HP: 10/10 | Init: +2 | Perception +2
Faroris looks up to the representative, nodding seriously at various points in explanation, though he looks a bit nervous when flying is mentioned. Still, he gives a smile to the man as he wishes them luck, and says, "Thanks." He looks to the others, and says, "Let's do this." However, he does look over to Sashah and Saphina, and says, "Any dinosaur riding tips?"
Male Half-elf CG Fiend Warlock 1 | AC: 13 | HP: 10/10 | Init: +2 | Perception +2
Faroris shakes his head and grins a bit sheepishly, "I'm not even all that good at riding horses." He looks around curiously as they enter the lounge, but then he looks down to the trinkets and livery curiously. I'll put my thoughts on the mascot in the discussion thread momentarily.
Male Half-elf CG Fiend Warlock 1 | AC: 13 | HP: 10/10 | Init: +2 | Perception +2
Faroris blinks, but looks back to Scramsax and nods, "Yeah, I got it. Are you alright?" This last asked with a bit of concern as he finally notices the bloody nose. Looking back to Saphina, he says, "My initial thought was that it was temporary riders, coming in to drug the animals and then disappearing. But, you're right, it could be that too." He grins, and says, "I would've tried to win anyway, but an extra incentive." Then, though, he says, "But I still think we should ask questions in with the racers." "Anyway, we still need to get down there, and we probably should go. The race is soon and we, or at least I, don't really know what the event is even," he says, at last.
Male Half-elf CG Fiend Warlock 1 | AC: 13 | HP: 10/10 | Init: +2 | Perception +2
Faroris looks to Fenri in confusion when she says she placed the bet. "I had the money he gave us, and I used it to place the bet. Did you use your own money to place another bet?" He turned back to the others and nods in agreement with Sasha before adding to Dwalar, "I didn't know about the riders, that's even more interesting. The riders, then, are probably the ones drugging or poisoning the animals. It might even be the only way to get someone into position to do that." Fenri's idea of what's going on has him staring at her in some disbelief. But it had Faroris' player laughing loudly. :-)
Male Half-elf CG Fiend Warlock 1 | AC: 13 | HP: 10/10 | Init: +2 | Perception +2
Faroris continues to chat with people for a little while but returns to the box by the second race to wait for others to come back as well, so he'll be ready in time for their event. When everybody is there, he says, "I wasn't able to find it much in the way of specifics, but the suspicious wins seem to be going beyond making a few people rich. It's securing up the entire economy around here. That's going to hurt more than just the bookies."
Male Half-elf CG Fiend Warlock 1 | AC: 13 | HP: 10/10 | Init: +2 | Perception +2
Faroris listens to the explanation, as much weight as he can understand, anyway, and brightens a bit, "We get to actually race? That will give us a good 'in' to look around." And it will be fun, he thinks to himself. He waves to listen if anybody else asks any questions, but then moves over to one of the bookies to hand over the pouch he pocketed earlier, "Alaster Bol wants to place a bet on Mountain Thunder, please." He smiles after the bed is taken, but makes no bet of his own, returning to the others and says, "I'm going to go see what I can find out about those more suspicious wins." He makes a quick cast of prestidigitation on himself, and slips down into the crowd a few moments later, trying to act like the slightly intoxicated gambler he now smells like. He starts to strike up random conversations, "My brother... He says this is the place to win big. He won big, on the biggest the longshots... Twice! At least, so he tells me. I'm not really sure I believe him. Have you seen any long shot wins?" Deception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 Persuasion: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Male Half-elf CG Fiend Warlock 1 | AC: 13 | HP: 10/10 | Init: +2 | Perception +2
Faroris catches the little coin pouch as Scramsax tosses it to him, and pockets it as he glances back to the others. His attention returns then to the heavier man again, listening. Nodding along to the instructions, he says, "Now that makes more sense. Yeah, we can look into that." He almost says something else, but does a bit of a double take at the answer to Fenri's question, "Dinosaur races?" He grins, and says, "This will be interesting!"
Male Half-elf CG Fiend Warlock 1 | AC: 13 | HP: 10/10 | Init: +2 | Perception +2
Faroris steps into the room with the others who have been called as well, stepping forward to give a respectful bow to the larger man. He’s a skinny young half elf, with little in the way of muscle, and pale brown hair that is almost blonde. He smiles to the boy who brings drinks to them all, and says, “Thank you.” He takes a sip of his, and looks back up to the larger man curiously. For a moment, he keeps watching, as if expecting there to be more, and when it becomes apparent that there isn’t, he glances around at the others, and looks back, and speaks up again, “Why do you need so many of us just to place a bet?”
Okay, it didn't take me nearly as long as I thought it would to fix things. Most of it was just fixing the numbers and deleting the stuff that doesn't apply to fifth edition. There, I think I have my character set properly now. At least, to what I intended it to be. I may have still made lots of mistakes, but they're my mistakes now and not PCGen's or data entry errors.
Okay, here's my idea. I know I probably messed up a number of places, but the trouble I had trying to make this textbased character sheet (DND Beyond does not export to text, hero lab data pack is $25 for just the SRD, I tried manually and then got the "You have backtracked too far" error message and lost it all, so I finally used PCGen. Due to disability, I dictate. I can't type without pain. To do this, I pretty much had to. My arm is killing me. If there are any errors, and I'm pretty sure there is many of them, I can fix it but I need to rest tonight. (Suffice to say, though, I kind of wish I'd bought the hero lab license. If I do anymore 5e PBP, I probably will.) Story-wise, this character is a young carpenter who had to make a literal deal with a devil to get the power to help defend his village. Now, with that battle over, he's just trying to have fun and do as much good as he can before he dies and has to pay off his bargain. Oh, as far as I can tell by googling, my old number is still valid, so my RPGA/DCI number is: 00808736 |
