Init (1d20 1=13)

Fargrim is barely out of the cave.

"Hmm. I'd smash the thing to bits with my hammer, if i didn't think it'd reform itself somehow. No curse is a good curse, i say."

"That can't possibly be good."

"Ya. I'd like to know if this thing's got any powers too. Don't wanna be cursed too ya know, since i'm holding it now. No offense priest.."

"I don't see no stinkin wraiths." Wispers Fargrim as he carefully steps toward the altar. He'll be on the defensive due to the serpent that could potentially eat him alive

"I get it. I get it. I'll go first." Grumbles the dwarf on his way down the rope.

"Good plan." Fargrim says as he climbs the rope. Take 10 gives me 19

Seeing Drivish take the onslaught of snakes and fall, he rushes to his side attempting to stabilize his wounds.

Heal (1d20+9=17)

Fargrim will stay back and aid anyone who needs it.

He can't do much else against these. He hits stuff with his hammer, and blocks stuff with his shield. That's it.

"Oy, Drivish! Don't mean to step on yer toes or anything, but I think i'd be better suited for luring them out than you are. Why don't ya let me lure them buggers out?"

I'll climb down and join Lafiel

"Aye. Count me in."

I know. That was 4 surges. I have 8 left. And that healed me plenty.

"Aye, thanks priest."

That puts me at full hp I believe

"Well, I suppose we could all fit down there, but the tunnel is only big enough for one at a time. And you have to watch those little biting buggers, they're nasty. The tunnel leads to the room with the large serpent coiled around the stone. It seems to be guarding the staff. I wouldn't talk very loudly down their, you may find yourself being the serpents next meal. Knowing my luck, that'd be me."

Seeing the large serpent, Fargrim isn't about to say anything while he's in here. He really wants that staff, but realizes he most likely can't take the serpent on his own. He goes back to the rope and tries to climb out of the hole.

Acrobatics; Athletics (1d20+1=14, 1d20+9=27)

Once he's on the surface again:
"There's a serpent down there," he stops to catch his breath, "and I believe it's guarding a staff of some sort. It' sleeping, that's why I fell silent when I was down there. Didn't want to wake the beast."

Sorry, 9hp

"Soon as I get myself situated in this here tunnel, i'll let ye know."

Acrobatics (1d20+1=15)

As soon as I get in the tunnel, (if it's dark) I'll take out my sunrod and light it up. Looking ahead through the tunnel, what do I see?

11hp
Save vs Poison (1d20+5=18)

Acrobatics (1d20+1=2)
IC hates me.. I know it. Is there a retry for the acrobatics?

"Ah, geez! What the frak are these buggers!" Fargrim yelps, startled by the swarm. He hops down from the rocks and reaches for the rope, trying to climb up part way. "Hey up there! Swing me over that-a-way! I'm gonna try to see what this tunnel is. If that's okay by you, that is!" Nearly forgetting Drivishes query, "Aye Drivish, seems natural enough to me."

Athletics: Climb rope (1d20+9=19)

DM:

Spoiler:

If they agree to swing the rope toward the tunnel:
Acrobatics: Swing to tunnel from rope (1d20+1=7)
Otherwise, I'll continue upward

"Hey! There's another tunnel down here!" Fargrim tries to climb up to the newly discovered tunnel.

Athletics (1d20+9=13)
Athletics (1d20+9=23)

Probably slips the first time, so he tries again if the first failed

"AAAaaahhh!!!" Fargrim yells as his voice gets further away, falling down the hole.

"Where'd that blasted hole come from!" He looks down at the mud, "By the gods! It'll take me days to clean me armour from this muck."

DM:

Spoiler:

The opening he fell through, and the opening he sees half way up the wall... are those two different openings?

23 hp

"Good idea there. Let's get goin' then, shall we?"

"What's our plan of approach? Are they still watching us with magic? Is stealth an option?"

"Sounds like a good idea. But, didn't they already know we're here?"

"I didn't think you were one for thievery, priest. No matter, let's quit this bickerin' and get a move on already."

Trying not to cry in my ale! lol j/k

"'Least I didn't run like a coward that time!" He coughs a little and tries to stay still, laying on his back for the Priest to heal him. "Take as much time you need, Priest. I'm in no rush."

After his healing is finished, he stands, gathers his belongings, and straightens himself up. "I'm ready now. They won't catch me by surprise next time!" He straps on his shield and grips his axe, ready for the dangers that lurk ahead.

DM:

Spoiler:

I cannot recall how many action points Fargrim had, if he had any at all. Just curious for future reference.

5 hp

Sure strike 21 vs AC, 10 damage

isn't there some way i can try to escape from this?

10 hp

Sure Strike 22 vs AC, 9 damage

How much more damage have I taken?

6 hp

Sure Strike 13 vs AC, 16 damage

Minor Action (Dwarven Resilience): Second wind. hp: 15 (after second wind)

Comeback Strike 12 vs AC, 16 damage
If it hits, I get to use a healing surge

16 hp, I'm officially 'bloodied'

save (1d20=10)

Ah, i see. So, the stunning is the save-ends, not the damage, correct?

On the other hand, Fargrim's bulk slows it substantially.

Nice, lol.. am i still taking ongoing damage, or am i dead again?

Current HP: 21

Save vs Stun

I hope that's not bad, lol.

I'm okay with my current positioning. Marching eastward.

Fargrim will march to Q9 and wait for everyone to fall in line behind. Continuing the march east once that is done.

"Soon as we're ready, let's get movin'."

How difficult would it be for me to move to H12?

If I can get there in 1 move:

Spoiler:

Attack the Vine Horror
Covering Attack (1d20+7=14, 2d10+4=22)
If it hits, Drivish may shift 2 squares, and the Vine Horror is marked by me

If not, i'll double move to as close as i can get to H12

Now that it's let me go and backed off, can still see it?

J8

"I'm right behind you." Take 10 on Athletics, gives me 19

"Now what ye be doin that fer?" Fargrim grabs the rope and tried to tug back, helping Barshevy. "Ye know, we should be on the other side of that thing. Come, let's go together." Fargrim stands beside the priest and readies himself to jump through the portal.

"Hmpf. Good riddance I say. No reason to be carryin' around some poor deaders hand everywhere. Let's get goin'."

"Aye, we should be careful. Let's keep going."

There's no way Fargrim will ever make a 24.

"Where'd the blasted thing go!?"

Yes

If I remember correctly, i still have one sunrod left.

"Drivish, maybe we should do this." Fargrim assists Drivish.

Strength check (1d20 3=9)
and
Strength check (1d20 3=15)
in case the first fails

"Hold priest! If anyone aught to be doing that, it should be me or Drivish. Not that I'm volunteering you or anything, Drivish, just sayin."
