About Fang Gul
There is a place in high in the mountains in the hold of Belkzan that even the Orcs avoid. Built over 700 hundred years ago by the dragon Kazavon, the walls of Scarwall still stand to this day, shunned by man and orc alike. But there is one sad tribe that still dwells in its shadow. After Kazavon rose to power he ruled much of Ustalav, and conquered no few orc tribes in Belkzan. What the depraved wyrm did to his subjects’ history thankfully does not say, but there in the shade of the blue dragon’s last redoubt there are a small clan of orc’s with blue skin instead of green or gray.
The direct progeny of Kazavon were cast down along with the dragon himself, but some third and fourth generation offspring managed to survive the battle of Scarwall. Cursed by all, unwilling to turn to dark deity of their fallen patriarch, they abide there still – degenerate sons and daughters of a god-crazed great wyrm, pariahs everywhere but the ruins of ancestor’s broken fortress.
The Blue Scales (or Blues, or filthy blue-snakes, or any of another number of colorful epithets) are a rough mixture of human, orc, and to some small degree dragon. Plotters, schemers, and hedge sorcerers, they have few friends in Belkzan or beyond.
Fang Gul (son to a particularly unimaginative mother) grew up in this hard scramble clan barely eking by on the rocky ground of Scarwall. Having inherited a particularly strong leaning toward his draconic ancestor, all he could see were his extended family wasting their potential just trying to survive whilst being surrounded by clans that on their very best day barely tolerate his people with unveiled contempt. In short, the Blue Scales were in desperate need of a new home.
Setting out at the age of 16, Fang fell in with a group of Pathfinders making their way through the Kodar Mountains. He has traveled for the society from that day on, still looking for some place where his family could live up to their destiny.
