Wonder if someone could clarify the following. There is some strangeness regarding some of the domains granted by Shoanti Totem Spirits. Shoanti Shamans, A History of Ashes, pg 68 wrote:
1. The Sklar-Quah totem does not include the Sun domain. One might think this a given, for "The Sun Clan" 2. There is no mention of Desna worship in the section on the Lyrune-Quah, even this is included on page 9 and page 30 (see the legend of Tanjah). Fairly minor, I know, but my understanding is that these sorts of companion pieces are intended to be both player and DM aids, as well as sources of general campaign knowledge. Were I to give this section to a PC, there is nothing to indicate that Desna worship is somewhat (un)common among the Lyrune-Quah. 3.The Skoan-Quah Boneslayers described on pages 30-31 have the Strength and Sun Domains. This is not consistent with the information presented in the Skoan-Quah entry on page pg.72. I realize that Boneslayers are "warriors who patrol Shoanti burial mounds and are trained from an early age to be particularly effective against the undead" but there is nothing, other than the stat block on pages 30-31 to indicate that Boneslayers worship something other than the Clan totem. Do Boneslayers worship something else, or are the Clan Totems "guides and not rules"? I know a cleric can just pick domains, which I suspect is going on here, but this seems to break with the flavor of the "Shoanti Shamans" article. In my home campaign, I'll probably replace the domains given to the Boneslayers with Protection and Repose, which should (somewhat) maintain the anti-undead / warrior aspect of the Boneslayers.
I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.11, with the following addons, themes etc:

Asus EEE 4G, Default Xandros Install, KDE If I have multiple tabs open to various parts of the Paizo Messageboards, and have not yet signed in, the tab in which I do sign in reverts to the last new tab I opened, rather than redirecting to the page I actually signed in on. This only effects Paizo pages, so it doesn't send me off site. Minor I know. Looked around briefly, didn't find any other reports about it. I apologize if this is a dupe or known issue.
Bloodlines that give melee touch attacks (particularly the dragonic and elemental bloodlines) probably should also grant a natural armor bonus that increases as the sorcerer advances. The Sorcerer will need to engage in melee to use their bloodline power, it makes sense to also give sorcerers a bump to their melee survivability, especially at lower levels.
Spoilers... Spoiler: There's so much goodness here, the content is completely seared into my brain, a fascinatingly morbid and dark memory that will persist for all time. I admit, when I started reading the pdf, I told myself, "this is not an adventure path," but quickly got over that initial skepticism as I grokked the terrible and ernst nature of the adventure. Thanks munch!
I apologize if there's a thread about this subject already on the forum, in my defense, I've out of the country (in Mexico, actually. Made every Fort save but the very last.) I noticed that page 33 (encounter at area B 30, lists Gragavan as being in the room with Dorella, but this doesn't jive with the encounter description and the accompanying artwork, which refers to "Hookmaw." Are there any unique stats for Hookmaw ? Going by the text, seems to have at least one unique feature (which for some reason makes me think of Jaws from James Bond movies.)
Page 20 in RORL #2 got me thinking about some other potential hooks or adventures to through at a party. Specifically, Grubber's Hermitage made me immediately think of Innsmouth. I'm thinking of a side trek involving a missing fishing boat, Lacedons and small cult of Urgathoa that borrows heavily from the Lovecraft's Dagon (and perhaps some material from Dragon 349). I'm also thinking that if I throw in that side trek, I would replace the encounter in B36 with an undead, giant octopus, as an ancient servitor of Urgathoa. Spoiler: Given the prehistory of Foxglove Manor, as described in areas B30 - B37. I think it would fit in fairly well. Granted, that encounter would be a bit beyond what is already in place. All of this is entirely due to how I perceive the Manor. In my mind's eye, I see a striking resemblance to Cavendish Hall, from Hellboy: Seed of Destruction. |
