"A nice demon? Well that's good." Eva says, looking at JJ with wide eyes. "I didn't know there were nice demons. I thought they were all supposed to be nasty."
Eva smiles at Deirdre. "I would like that." When Xavier appears, Eva claps and smiles at him. "Hello Xavier." she says, "It is nice to see you! I am sorry you can not eat my muffins." she frowns "Apparently they are not very good anyway. I like them though."
Eva looks crestfallen at Ashton's criticism. "Oh, I thought they were quite tasty." she says. "This was my seventeenth attempt. What was bad about them. Was it the sprinkles? Should I leave them off next time?"
Yes! Do you like them? Eva replies with a smile, looking expectantly at the others.
Eva walks in carrying a tray covered with a cloth. Today she's dressed in a heavy bomber jacket over a light sundress and ballet shoes. Placing the tray on the table she looks up and smiles. "I have brought a surprise too!" she says, pulling the cloth away to reveal a tray of muffins topped with sprinkles. "Have one," she says. "They're very good!" If you have one: Weird texture, a bit wet. There's peanut butter, lemon curd, spinach, goats cheese and,... a hint of anchovy. Plus sugar,... lots of sugar.
Eva: A surprise? I like surprises. I will also be there.
Nothing to add,... ready to move forward
"Is there sufficient space on a tabletop?" Eva asks. "It seems like you would need a large surface."
"Hmmm," Eva says, pausing in thought. "I do not think I enjoy larping then."
From the back seat, Eva's suddenly asks "Was that an unusual LARP? It seemed much more dangerous than I expected."
Hayden's vibrating phone:
Eva: Gavin and Bonnie went back to the dorms. Clove scared them. No one else is here now. I am near a circle of stones. A minute or two later Hayden's phone buzzes again: Eva: Do you think you'll be very long? I do not like being alone very much and its quite dark here.
Eva watches the group disappear curiously and then pulls out her phone, and taping the screen. Done, she sits on a nearby fallen log, waiting. Hayden's phone plays its alert tone: Clove, Lucinda, Blaze, and Sonoko seem to have gone. Is the game over now? I am not sure I know the way back to the car.
Eva folloes Clove as they back away. Doping her best to keep them in sight.
Eva smiles as she feels, somehow, that she might ba able to do something. Strangely, her smile seems somewhat,... ominous. "I'm fairly sure that "good girls" are allowed to hit vampires." she says, stepping towards Clove.... Harm them and.... Clove learns something about Eva's true nature and gains a String on her.
Eva watches as the others leave and then turns to Clove and nods. "I always try to be a good girl."
Eva backs away nervously as Clove approaches her, before glancing over at Gavin and Bonnie. "Um,.. Ok" she says, ",but only if you let them go."
Eva steps forward to try to do something to help Gavin, but feels strangely incapable of acting against Clove. For a moment she pauses and then speaks up. "I thought vampires preferred virgins?"[b] she says. [b]"Would you not prefer my blood to his?"
Eva nods. "I am sorry. I did not realise Jack was the traitor." she turns to Gavin and smiles. "Clove said that you are a traitor, and that we must extract information from you to track down your co-conspirators. Where are your co-conspirators? I am sure that telling us now would save a lot of time. You should tell me because I am a vampire with many friends."
Who would you like is to interrogate?" Eva asks. "it seems to be taking us quite a long time top reach them. Where are they?"
"Choose my own name?" says Eva, lost in thought. Then I will be 'Mary'"
Eva carefully examines the character sheet, her eyes quickly scanning the esoteric numbers and statistics displayed. "So I am a vampire who is good at lots of things?" she says, "but I have to choose one thing to be good at and a name and other things?" she frowns in thought. "I would like to be a vampire with lots of friends." she says. "What kind of name should I choose?"
"I am a virgin." Eva adds helpfully with a smile. "I have yet to have intercourse. Is that helpful?"
Eva piled of the car with the others, still dressed in the clothes she had carefully selected for the day: A short gold sequin skirt over long blue tights, short lace-up combat boots, a large white woollen hooded cardigan and a bowler hat. At the sight of the people already there, she stepped forward. "Good evening, my name is Eva and it is very nice to meet you." she said with her hand outstretched and a pleasant smile. "I am not familiar with the system and I have never larped before."
I will larp" Eva pipes up from her position on the back seat. "Why do people pretend to be elves or vampires? Is a nerd party different from a house party? What is the appropriate clothing for larp or nerd party? Should we take a gift of some sort if we haven't been invited? Will there be special gummies and dancing and kissing like the party we were at at this house? I would like to experience more of each of those. Sorry for asking so many questions. We do not larp in Iceland."
"May I come?" Eva asks Deirdre "I would like to find out more about Gavin and I enjoyed our time at his party. It was nice of him to invite me to his party and say that I am extremely interesting. I would like to help him if I can."
At no risk,... the fires are some distance from where I was working but made things a little tricky.
Eva had remained silent throughout the conversation and the subsequent summoning of the demon, carefully studying how each of the group reacted to the strange creature's appearance and revelations, but not feeling that there was anything she could add to the question of Gavin's behaviour. " I am not a vampire either." she says after Deirdre. "I'm quite sure I would be aware of it if I were. Perhaps we should go and ask Gavin what he's researching? We could offer to help."
Sorry for the absence everyone,... I've been dealing with some stuff in remote Tasmania which has involved doing my best to avoid being caught up in the fall-out from some massive bushfires. Should be all sorted now (although the fires continue to rage)... I'll try to catch up on what's been going on and make a contribution.
"You did have a not-as-special gummy," Eva replies, titling her head, "but I do not believe that it caused any significant mental disturbance. I was not attempting to be humorous. I hope that you are feeling better now. If so I will leave, as I am late for a 'study group'".
Eva blinks. "I said that you don't have to worry about the demon that was pretending to be your dead friend last night." she says, and then pauses uncertainly. "Aren't you pleased? You seemed very worried about it last night."
Eva smiles as the door is opened. "Hello." she says, "I would like to tell you that one of my friends banished the demon that was pretending to be your dead friend last night. I thought you might be pleased."
Woken by the sound of her phone alerting her to a text message, Eva reached over and picked it up, looking at the screen. Seeing the invitation from Deirdre, she tapped a few words into the touch screen and hit send. "I will be pleased to attend." Deciding that she would benefit from learning more about her new friends, she browsed through various social media platforms, examining the profiles of the various people she had met the night before. Eva tilted her head as she studied Sam's profile, noting that he had a room in the building. Standing, she made her way to the door of her room and glanced around, noting that Hayden's door was closed. Turning to her left she made her way to the stairs and onwards to Sam's room. For a few moments, she paused outside the door before knocking.
Eva nods. "I understand that demons, ghosts and fairies are not generally considered to be real." she replies, "I do not feel overwhelmed though. I am doing my best to think critically but if you think I am being too open-minded I will endeavour to correct this."
Eva pauses. "I believe they contained lysergic acid diethylamide, psilocybin and methylenedioxymethamphetamine. Known effects of these chemical on biological systems include sensory hallucinations amongst other side effects. Do you think my experiences may have resulted from 'Special Gummies'?"
Eva thinks for a moment before answering. "I met a boy called Sam in the hot tub who said he saw his dead friend." she begins. "It turned out to be a demon called Trixie. That was a bit after I met a Ghost called Xavier who I was introduced to by my friends Deirdre and Hayden. Hayden is a fairy princess who gave me 'special gummies'. A warlock made Trixie go away."
Eva looked around, the familiar surroundings making her feel comfortable, but with a lacing of caution and half-membered pain. Tilting her head, she looked at the doctor. "Hello Dr Beacon" she said politely. Blinking, she considered the question. "Tonight I had many new experiences. I went to a party. I had Special Gummies and Not-as-special gummies, I danced and kissed two people who are now my friends and I met a demon. Which experience would you like me to describe?"
"I do not require pillows and a couch." Eva responded to Deirdre, "I have a room just down the hallway. I will sleep there. As the group split up, Eva followed along with Deirdre and Hayden. [b]"Good night." she said, as she pushed open the door next to Hayden's room, which had been unoccupied until the day before. "I have enjoyed spending time with you tonight, and I am glad we are now friends. Will I see you tomorrow?"
Eva nods along with Deirdre. "That seems sensible. What is this study group studying? Is it just 'weird' things, or is this for school?"
Eva lives in the dorms but has no room mate.
Eva shakes her head. "I do not have a sarcasm detector," she says to Hayden. "so it can not be broken. Perhaps I should acquire one? I am not very proficient at detecting sarcasm."
Eva looks at Ashton and blinks before repeating herself, as requested " I am learning much that I did not expect to." That done, she holds out her hand and smiles. Hello Ashton, my name is Eva and it is very nice to meet you. I am a student from Iceland. I was invited to this party where I have made friends with Deirdre and Hayden, who is a fairy princess. I also met a boy called Sam who told me about the monster that looked like his dead friend but was a demon."
"This is all very interesting." Eva says with a pleased smile as she curiously looks at each of the group. "My reading would suggest that ghosts, demons, warlocks, and fairy princesses are generally considered to be fictional entities and yet I have experienced each of these in just one night. I am learning much that I did not expect to."
Eva listens to the 'monster' that had noted it wanted to be called 'Trixie' with interest. She had no experience with something that could change shape so easily, but was intrigued. Stepping forward with her hand outstretched she smiles. ""Hello Trixie, my name is Eva and it is very nice to meet you. I do not have a picture, and I do not see any cards on the table. Hayden has offered to make some small signs for me. Perhaps she could make you some cards? I think that the world is already very interesting and I do not see how conflict would make it more so. I do not like conflict. I do not know what we can do to stop you causing conflict but I will note that I am not incapable of causing physical harm in order to protect people."
Eva follows along, remaining close to Deirdre. "What kind of behaviour classifies as 'weird'?" she asks curiously as they move through the building.
Eva nods, still nervously eyeing the protagonists. "I met a boy called sam in the hot-tub who said he saw a monster that was his best friend who is dead and can look like anyone."
"My birthday is on the 14th of March" Eva replies to Hayden. "Small signs might be useful, but i may need a bag of some sort to transport them more easily." When they return to Ashton, she steps forward towards Fahed "Good evening, my name is Eva and it is very nice to meet you." She starts to ask about the redhead meetings when Ashton turns to confront Deirdre. Stepping back as the conflict mounts, she nervously shifts her gaze between them. "Ashton was not in the pool." Eva adds, as helpfully as she can. "Why is everyone shouting? I am not enjoying this." tears starting to form in her eyes. "I do not like conflict."
I do not know whether being a fairy princess is weird." Eva says in response to Hayden's announcement. "How many fairy princesses are there?" When they move into the privacy of the room, she watches the planchette move carefully. "Fascinating." she says. "I have not previously experienced the laws of physics being circumvented like this. Do you know what force is operating and how it works?"
Eva pauses in thought for a moment. "I don't know." she replies to Deirdre. "Although I am not certain what constitutes 'weird'."
