About Eris Faelen
Background: Eris is the illegitimate daughter of Castien Ealoviel; an Elven merchant in Qadira; and his human house maid Sybilla Faelen. Despite this Eris was treated like her full elven siblings and more often then not better then her younger brother Drest. Eris’ father hoped she be a merchant in the Andoran until in the middle of her schooling one day while Eris mindlessly drew odd symbols on her parchment instead of taking notes she caused 4 coloured glowing orbs to appear. When her teacher looked at the symbol and noticed it was not an arcane rune he told Castien that Eris had dangerous magical powers. Life for Eris changed quickly after that, she was now more of an out cast among her Elven family. When Eris was old enough she and Drest left Qadira. They don’t stay anywhere long for at first the people of whatever village, town or city Eris stops at find her abilities beneficial but as soon as there is an illness, a bad crop cycle or other seemingly unexplained event, Eris is often blamed.
Personality: Eris is very intelligent and sometimes that is her down fall as sometimes it is difficult for her to interact with less refined or thoughtful people for she speaks straightforward (Except for the topic of herself), has a habit of correcting the speech of others and pointing out simple things people miss in a way some consider condescending. Luckily Eris is also kind. She hates to see people suffer, abhors war and will do what good she can do with her powers to help people. She is also very curious and wants to know as much as she can about the world (and all its planes) in this lifetime. This aim is slightly vain since one of her true desires is to understand where her power truly comes from. Eris’ biggest flaw is she isn’t very trusting of people, more specific she doesn’t trust people in large groups. Being a witch in a time where there are no clerics has more downs then ups. She has had to quickly leave her fare share of places because the people swore she was using evil powers to effect something. The only person she really trusts is her half brother Drest.
