Damage never heals. (Unlike 3.X/PF1)

So Void damage hurts the living and does nothing to the undead.
Void healing does nothing to the living and heals the undead.
And the inverse for Vitality.

Heal, common as it is, remains tricky because it seems like it does one thing, release vital healing energy which harms undead. But Heal does two things: Vitality healing side by side with Vitality damage, it's just its targets are bound to ignore at least one of those.
(Harm, of course, works inversely.)

So none of the many spells that do Void damage will heal that PC at all unless they specifically do Void healing too. There aren't many Void healing spells, with Harm being the default one and fine enough if you have it available (and unlike Heal, it's only on the Divine list). Soothe works on both living & undead because it's neither Vitality nor Void and there might be other neutral ones like that.

Though I haven't investigatef I would imagine Book of the Dead & the Blood Lords AP have introduced more spells/items for negative/void healing.

Thank you very much. This will be very helpful for my campaign.

I have a high level player that has become an undead. What do my players need to know in order to heal this character? Do they heal if they take void damage from any source or does it have to from a special source? If they don't heal from all sources then do they still take damage from void damage if they ain't immune to it? Thanks in advance I know this is a lot of questions.
