Nagaji Lore Warden 1
Entaro lets go of Valai's arm as they descend, once he finally realizes that they are not going to impact the ground with much force. He then starts to wiggle and twist to try and right himself so that he'll land on his feet. He looks like a fish flopping on dry land until he finally somersaults into a mostly upright position. He lands easily and looks up to see the rest of the crew still hanging on to their ropes. Everyone but Boodka, that is. The orc is right above him, falling a little faster than he did (probably due to his more massive size). Entaro quickly scrambles out of the way of Boodka's belly flop, just managing to avoid being landed on. After helping Boodka to his feet and making sure Valai is okay, Entaro looks around. Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19 What are the lighting conditions down here?

"I will hold the rope for the rest of you, if you wish." Entaro looks in the direction of the group members who have not begun their descent. Once the rest of the group have reached the bottom of the rope and are on their own, Entaro will begin his own climb down. Climb: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 If they refuse his offer, he'll just start down now.

Entaro is surprised at how light Booker is, until he realizes that it is due to the planet's low gravity. Entaro continues to hold onto the rope, just in case, but his mind is more at ease now that he knows this climb will prove to be easier than it first looked. Entaro will continue to hold the rope until Booker no longer needs it (or reaches the end of it).

Entaro grasps the end of the rope, holding on tightly, even though it is still slack. He stands at the edge of the hole to allow Booker as much room as he can to maneuver. If all goes well, Entaro won't have to do anything more than just stand there. "Be careful," he says, simply.

The board saves your rolls, so if the post got lost somehow, the rolls would still be the same, theoretically. That's why you can preview and see what you are going to roll without changing the result. Is Entaro up? Will he even have a chance to attack, or will Boodka knock the creature out before his turn?

My whip will not be of use against a machine... Entaro pulls out his morningstar and moves to engage the construct. He takes the time to move in a wide arc around the crab machine, hoping to flank the construct and give himself and his companions a tactical advantage. Once within range, he makes a quick strike. Move action to move as close to behind the creature as I can without provoking an AoO. Standard action to attack with morningstar. Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

Entaro, who's been rather quiet lately, perhaps because he is so shocked at the machinery the likes of which he has never witnessed before, finally pipes up to urge the group onward. "Perhaps we should move forward. If Keth is needed to power some aspects of our suit, it would be wise to find a way to bring him back as soon as possible." Entaro pulls out his whip, unsure of whether the thing will even be of use against machines, and starts to climb the circle dead robots.

"It looks like we'll all be travel companions for some time now. I suppose we should get to know each other. I am an interrogator for the Nagaji, specializing in counter-terrorism." He looks at the rest, expecting them to tell a little more about themselves. Then he turns to Keth. "Keth, what can you tell us of the nearest planet?" Entaro has been relatively quiet while the others have asked there questions. But as it seems they are being forced to participate in this "game," he might as well get as much information as possible. Plus, it would be good to know if the construct can parse out his strange way of speaking. His accent places heavy emphasis on the "s" sound and his voice is extremely breathy, as if forcing out air while speaking. Many who are not Nagaji have difficulty understanding what he says.

Entaro wakes up slowly, to the sound of conversation. He keeps his eyes closed, hoping no one notices that his breathing is no longer regular and listens intently. Sounds like an assortment of people are here, and no one knows what is going on. We are in a suit? Entaro very slightly moves one of his fingers and feels the glove over it. It appears so. Perhaps I should get up. The Nagaji opens his eyes and sits up while looking around at the others. He is surprised to find a rather odd assortment of people. There's a human, though he doesn't look like the Tien humans Entaro is used to. He recognizes one to be a gnome, as he's seen a few of those before, as well as the Vanari. Is that an elf? And what is that?! Entaro has never seen an orc before, but he has a suspicion from the stories he has heard. Entaro's first thought about what is going on is not a pleasant one. Were they captives? He had dealt with far too many prisoners to be happy about this. Best to play along and not make our captors unhappy. "Yes, I can see you." Entaro's voice is very breathing, as if he is exhaling while talking, and he seems to drag out the "s" sound a little longer than normal folks would, both due to his Nagaji accent.
Here's the backstory. Backstory:
Entaro's interest in learning led many of his peers to shun him and, in some cases, bully him. He had to learn rather quickly how to defend himself. The solution he came up with was to become a more intimidating figure. He trained to increase his strength and worked out ways to make his bullies feel inferior to him. These skills that he developed translated into a career. Rather than become a warrior, Entaro became an interrogator. Using intimidation as his primary tactic, Entaro had a knack for being able to extract information from enemies of the Naga. Despite his job verging on torture, Entaro kept a strict code. First, he would never interrogate a child or a man of simple mind. Second, he would never do lasting harm to his subject. Bruises and other minor injuries that heal quickly were the most he ever inflicted. And finally, he would immediately stop receiving information, never harming his subject more than absolutely necessary. Entaro did not enjoy hurting people, but a job was a job and he was good at it. The code he kept to gave him a reason to continue, to justify what he had to do to protect the citizens of his native land and the Naga they served. One night, Entaro took a stroll through the jungle to a clearing he found a few years ago. He sometimes went there to clear his head after especially trying days. Looking up, he saw the clouds part and the stars align. When he mentioned this to his friends and coworkers, they mostly laughed, thinking he was playing a joke. But the strange occurrence brought him back to the clearing the next night and the next, and the same event happened again and again. Finally, one night when the stars appeared brighter than ever, the sky went suddenly bright and he felt weightless. That is the last anyone in Nagajin has seen of Entaro. Appearance and Personality:
Though what Entaro does for a living may be seen as torture to some, he doesn't view it that way. He sticks to a very strict code to prevent himself from ever treading toward the Evil side of torture and interrogation and he does not take pleasure in bringing pain to anyone. He can be intimidating, especially to humanoids who have never encountered the Nagaji before. However, when one gets to know him, they find him to be trustworthy, loyal, and good-hearted.

Nagaji have a +2 racial bonus to perception (Serpent's Sense). I will correct the d12 to d10 right now. I should also note that I forgot to include a Favored Class bonus (probably will go into HP) and I made a mistake with my skills (two of them must be intelligence based, and I only have 1 int based right now). Backstory is still forthcoming. Thanks for looking him over!
I am still working on his backstory, but here is DukeRuckley's Nagaji Lore Warden Fighter. The basic premise behind him is that he is an Interrogator for the Naga in Nagajin. He sees his job as a necessary thing, and does not cause any lasting harm during his interrogations. The worst criminals and traitors get is a very bad bruising. I'll work on sprucing up and expanding his backstory over the next day. For now, you can check out his stats in his profile. He uses a whip primarily. Due to the Enforcer feat, he is able to intimidate as a free action when using his whip. He probably won't be the primary damage dealer in a battle, but he'll be good for tripping (especially after a few more levels) and demoralizing, so he's a great support role. If anyone has any suggestions for a better avatar, let me know. |
