Ental was raised in the wilds by his family. They lived on the outskirts of a treant grove and maintained good relations with them. The one outsider that they had regular contact with was Shalelu. She oftened stopped by their grove during travels and stayed the night.

Two years ago, the grove was attacked by a gang of orcs. They set fire to the grove and killed Ental's parents and young brother. Shalelu arrived just before they finished Ental. She rescued Ental and slew the remaining orcs. She put out the fires and took Ental back to Sandpoint. Since he was rescued he has lived in town with Koya, but he has never forgotten the one who saved him, and hopes one day to return the favor.
