Backstory:

Ellamin Wolfswift had not known a regular childhood. He was born aboard a pirate ship. Even at an early age he was subjected to the arts of swordsmanship. The captain had taken a liking to him and made him his pupil as he had been quite the duelist.

The Captain had taught him all sorts of dueling stances, with some dirty pirate tricks O'course! Ellamin was noted by the crew to duel almost like an art. Everything moved like the flow of a stream, precise, fast, and deadly. When one day, their ship had come under attack from Orcish Warships. Ellamin and the crew fought hard alongside one another, however it was a futile as it was not enough to hold back the bloodthirsty orcs. The ship sank, and with it Ellamin was laid outcast..

When he came to he was on a beach, one he did not know and still doesn't. He tried to stand but found himself falling to the ground again. Fortunately, some nearby travelers had found him and nourished him back to health. When he was well enough, he made a travel inland and came upon Riddleport.

Ellamin had just about given up hope even after finding Riddleport. He had no money, no work, and no home. He was thieving and stealing to eat day to day. One day when he was thieving he stole a book from a hooded man. When he came to a secluded location, he read the book. It was called The Eloquent Dagger it spoke of techniques used by assassins and other subtlety professions. Ellamin practiced these techniques day after day combining them with his art of thievery. He soon earned a reputation as a mercenary, who killed and stole for his pay. No job was too much, or too little in Riddleport

Soon that same hooded man approached Ellamin and said "I've been watching you and I know what you took. I let you take it because I sensed some fate with you. Have you learned well?" Ellamin nodded his head but also expressed his want to learn more in the art of the blade. The hooded man agreed to take him as a pupil and Ellamin soared through all the tests given to him. The man then said to him "You have learned well my pupil but you must do something for me in return, see I am not a human. I am a ghost merely cursed to walk even though my time has passed."The man lifted his hood and it was his former captain clearly deceased in a transparent form. "The devil himself didn't want me because of my misdeeds while I was alive. So he banished me to walk these plains for eternity. I need you to go to the tavern in Riddleport and go into a little.. contest for me. However when you win, do not ask for money. Ask for my soul in peace my child" With that the man disappeared from sight.

Ellamin traveled to the tavern in Riddleport and heard "Cheat the Devil and take his loot for yourself!" by a strangely golden goblin. Ellamin thought to himself " I am ready for this, Fate has guided me..I must for my master."
