Character Concept and Background
Eldon is a bright-eyed halfling, sharing his race's vivacity and curiosity. As an oracle of life, he has an even greater appreciation for it than most of his lighter-hearted kin. He truly worships life in all its forms and abhors all that is twisted and unnatural. He even has a bit of an uncharacteristic paranoid streak, ever distrustful of anything he considers unliving, including undead (obviously), constructs, and even illusions. In times of stress, he tends to babble and even speak in tongues when pushed to the limit.
He is hesitant to harm living things, but he is not naive about the cycle of life nor the evil that exists in the world. He will kill and eat animals if he needs to do so to survive, and he will harm aggressors in defense of his own life or those he considers dear. He has long made peace with the violent aspects of those acts and understood that he must do what is necessary to persevere.
He came to Ustalav from abroad to find out if the rumors of terrible and unnatural evil in this part of the world were true. Almost immediately he came across Professor Lorrimor, with him he quickly developed a working relationship. The Professor was curious about him and his abilities, and in exchange had a wealth of information about the local history and current events. The two became good friends during their time together, just recently losing contact as Eldon traveled out into the countryside to investigate recent activities. He is greatly saddened and shocked to hear of the professor's funeral.
Description
Eldon is an average sized halfling, about 3 feet tall. He wears a simple outfit that would be befitting to a traveling priest, though he follows no god of his own, venerating all that believe in the sanctity of life. He has an honest face and a charming smile, always willing to have a chat with a stranger. Clean-shaven and neat, he carries little with him other than a few bites of food that he frequently indulges in.
