Came back to check on this post... Holy Triple Post Batman... ><

I'm surprised I didn't see this earlier, I'm the DM off the Beer and Battle group, and I was surprised to see Dave posting in here.... F#&%er better not be reading the spoilers!

As far as the effects go Dave does them all post when he edits the podcast. I think he's got a YouTube of it or something on our Facebook.

I'm curious, you mentioned the podcast bogged down. I'd love to know more, I'll admit I'm not always on my game but I get so little feed back i'd love a critique!

This SHOULD work, I put them in my Dropbox Shared folder. Here's the PDF of the cards. Hope you guys like 'em!

Hero Point PDF

Did you have to order a minimum of 250?

Ya, But I figured sharing with my various Pathfinder groups and my friends groups as well as handing out some as flyers for our podcast I could find a use for most of them.

I used Print Runner to make them so I don't have a PDF atm. But I did shoot an email off to them asking for a Proof of the print job in PDF form, so we'll see what they send me.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

So I figured I needed a way for my players to Track Hero Points, because they were never using them, and after looking around for something online I figured I'd have to just makes some of my own.

Beer and Battle Hero Points

They are 6x2 inch bookmarks with all of the relevant info on them.

PC gets a point? Give them a bookmark. PC spends a point? They give the bookmark back!

What you think?

My group always forgets about their hero points so I had these made up to hand out! They are 6x2 inch bookmarks with all of the relevant info on them!

So Livestream is not being our friend atm, but Dave did find a saved copy of last nights game and uploaded it to our main website. If for some reason you wanna watch it you can find it at

Carrion Crown Session 2

Its 800megs but it's there if anybody wants to watch it. Whether he's going to find session 1's video... who knows. He does SO much I try to only ask a little of him.

@ /Italian Accent Mono-TONY. As long as everybody is having fun, distractions be damned it's part of the night. I "TRY" to control the chatting a bit if we're at a good part but sometimes the group will do what the group wants to do. And I'm just the dm. I kill characters, not Buzzes.

I'm not a kill buzz, wait, no Kill Joy, I think that's what I trying to say.

Sounds so corny saying this, but Like us on Facebook to find out if we're playing week to week.
Beer and Battle

Damn Helaman, That sucks! We had a nice little crowd watching last night and I'm sure you would have enjoyed the chat.

@Samnell... I'm sure by now you realize we don't mind "creepy" people watching us.

:edit:
Had a lot of fun last night, had about 3 more encounters planned then we got to but I'd rather not reach an encounter then blow through all my prepped material and be like"....Uh... ok I'm done."

spoiler:

My group can be a little... distracted sometimes so if I want to be subtle I have to smack them in the face with it. So I had Adivion pop back in saying he had found Sain in town and felt compelled to bring him to the house. Creates a Nice little connection between him the party and Sain for part 3.

And the Haunt in the house. I fudged the rules on that. Just 1 question? Nah, BORING, need to get some of the plot out there for them to start asking questions. So while they are doing the little seance trying to talk to the Haunt one of the other players is in another room trying to act as "Bait" and says "POSSESS ME!"

so i did.

and about a half hour later he shows up on the porch covered in blood.

Yep, and if you don't mind spoilers we'll be streaming in a few hours. Around 6 AZ time.

Ok... so its not the game of the 15th - its the 8th... was so confused by the game (watched a lot of it) but it makes sense now.

Really looking forward to the game of the 15th going up AND love your gaming set up

<--- I'm not the technician of the group, and I'm s%%! with dates. The 8th was a crazy game. One of those games were you plan one thing, then some people cancel so you plan something else, Then another person shows up so you plan something else.

So I did a prequel game to carrion crown to teach PF. That said I'll check to see were the f$#! the 15th game went, cause we did the funeral and story building then. Ghaaaa... that s&!$s supposed to save by itself, but Dave's yelled at me before for closing the laptop before it does... don't think I did...

/ramble.

And now after looking at our Livestream page I was told that all of our streams were saved there... and I see only 2. So... I dunno. Livestream is just a byproduct of the podcast. When it works it works, but it looks like it aint atm.

Songs Done!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zn0brZCSXOo&feature=youtu.be

It's not a masterpiece but it gets the idea across I think. I hope somebody else gets a chance to use it! If you do, PLEASE leave thanks for the girls that recorded it on the YouTube page!

@Helaman, Dave's got a CD release party for his band (The Strand) in about 2 weeks so I know he's busy with that, so I expect within 3 weeks. But who knows, he might find the time sooner.

That said, Livestream has it saved @ http://www.livestream.com/beerandbattle. It's the June 8th one. If you compare the live to the podcast you'd be amazed at how much work Dave put's into it. From editing to voice modification and more. So I hope you like the stream, but IMO the podcast is way better.

I'll let you know if it works Trinite. Mathius, I should have something finished by Monday. I'll put up the originals plus my cleaned up versions. One of my crew from the Kingmaker story line knows a little bit more about editing audio then I do and I plan on enlisting his help.

ScottieK, Thanks, that means a lot. By the end of the session I was feeling like a blind man grasping at straws. Depending on our schedules we play weekly. Usually have a notice up on our FB page a few days prior if we're going to play on Friday.

That said, I know Dave is gonna crank out the Podcast for this first episode pretty quick, might be worth the wait.

The way trust points are written seem to push players in to the prison pretty early. I haven't told them that they are getting them yet, just been keeping a tally on my own. I plan on revealing them next game but without the daily -1. I figure my group can get those neg points all on their own.

Ever have one of those games you spend so much time prepping you realize you didn't actually take any time to prep?

Bah, it went off, had a few bumps, but I think I had some information overload right before the game that through me off and I forgot the little stuff. It's going now and the players have their feet under them and I know which direction they need to be nudged.

I was able to find a little bit about Adivion, Thanks Inkwell! And though I had little about him I scrounged up a letter (During game while the players were RPing with themselves) that somebody had written for him. Think it went off. Players were like, "That guys cool... But I think he's an a#!$#$~."

Had a friend come through for me last minute with a recording of his daughters singing the Skipping Song, Didn't get a chance to use it this game, but that means I have time to clean it up. I'll post a link when its done.

So far I've pulled off a lot of music to play, I stumbled upon a dim reference sheet with all the skill checks and xp charts and more which I think is goin to be very helpful.

Right now I'm listening to The Gamers Guide to HoH podcast.

That said, looks like I missed some stuff! I didn't find a thread mentioning having characters from later show up. Sounds like a great idea! Where does Adivion show up? I've got my pdfs with me but not my books, so if I know where to look I can find him.

I'm not too sure about making the wife the bad guy... but again, couldn't find that thread.

Been running a 4e game for, damn, nearly 4 years now, and I've finally gotten my main group to switch over to Pathfinder and I am so excited about tonight's game.

If there has been one thing that I've enjoyed in prepping for this game is the amount of support and material that the community has created. Just browsing the forums I've gotten so much material to add to the game I can't thank everybody enough.

My groups headcount right now is a Monk, Fighter (who doesn't speak common), Cleric, Gunslinger, and a Witch. I usually try to give my players free reign over what they want to do for their characters and for this game they ran with it. I can see townsfolk of Ravengro being a little suspicious of the Witch but I think my main problem is going to be the Cleric... the Kobold Cleric. I've got a player that's always trying to do something "Interesting" and that always equals "Challenging" for me. As long as it doesn't ruin the game for the other players though I usually just roll with it.

That said, I'd like anybody able to join us! We stream our games live and then edit them for podcasting. So if you'd like to see my group take it's first few steps into the world of Pathfinder join us at BeerandBattle.com or find us on FB! As the name suggests though, the Beer and Battle crew is an adult team with adult themes... consider yourself warned.

Www.beerandbattle.com will be doing a live unboxing in just a few hours. I'd say about 630 mountain time. As is our SOP we will be drinking. Heavily. We will be cursing. Like sailors.

We have a brick. We have booze. We have a live stream. Join us!

(By brick I mean 64 random boxes of the new pathfinder minis!)

Just announced! See the Press Release here! (It has some info on follow-up sets, as well as a FAQ you'll want to check out.)

We will be making the black dragon case premium available to those who order cases from paizo.com, and in other ways as well. Details on that will be announced later.

We are doing a live unboxing tonight(Friday jan20) if anybody wants to watch at Beerandbattle.com!

We have a whole brick and will be doing shots and various drinking games while opening an entire brick!

That's what I was looking for, thanks.

My Group plays with a projector for maps (saves SO much time) and I know there are other people out there that do it as well and I want to share my maps but worried about copyright.

I just finished my editing of the Thorn's End map and while it's a little rough here and there I'm rather proud of it. I've got it in layers so I can reveal one room at a time as my party moves through it, with each floor layered on top of each other into one map.

I did it at first because I was having a hard time with what staircase went where (cause north is different for the first floor then any other floor) and after I started it just kinda snowballed.

Rambling.

So, does anybody know (or is there a Paizo person around) if Paizo would have a problem with me sharing the maps of theirs that I edit to be used on a projector?

Bellona, I was stumped by the yellow areas as well, then I realized that they covered a group of rooms with only one Room Number. Consider all rooms covered by the same yellow area to be of the same room description. IE Kitchen, Slave Quarters Ect.

I think it's been an excelent source for new things. Little tidbits here and little bits there that help with the game.

That said, I've been really dissapointed in Dragon recently. Ever since they've gone to the new and improved format I've been less and less satisfied. Fully half of the magazine is advertisment now. There are whole sections in the front and in the back, just for adds, then whole page adds every 2 or 3 pages.

I'm starting to question the price I pay for a magazine with so little content.

Two words, Wandering Monster.

After they've had thier little debate and you think it's time to get the game rolling throw them back into the game with some monster coming to see what all the fuss is about.
