ABILITIES Celestial Totem-This effect bestows upon Egon a halo of gleaming light that shines as if it were daylight and triggers an invisibility purge effect in his square and each adjacent square. The invisibility purge only affects non-good creatures.
Guarded Life-While raging, if Egon is reduced below 0 hit points, 1 hit point of lethal damage per barbarian level is converted to nonlethal damage. If he is at negative hit points due to lethal damage, he immediately stabilizes.
Powerful Blow-Egon gains a +1 bonus on a single damage roll. This bonus increases by +1 for every 4 levels the barbarian has attained. This power is used as a swift action before the roll to hit is made. This rage power can only be used once per rage.
Reckless Abandon-While raging, Egon can take a –1 penalty to AC to gain a +1 bonus on attack rolls. The AC penalty increases by –1 and the attack roll bonus increases by +1 at 4th level and every four levels thereafter.
Unexpected Strike-Egon can make an attack of opportunity against a foe that moves into any square threatened by him, regardless of whether or not that movement would normally provoke an attack of opportunity. This rage power can only be used once per rage.
Trap Sense-Egon gains a +3 bonus on Reflex saves, and +3 dodge bonus on AC, against traps.
Improved Uncanny Dodge-Egon cannot be flanked or be caught flat-footed, unless the rogue is four levels higher level than him. He still loses his Dexterity bonus to AC while immobilized.
Power Attack-When attacking with this feat, Egon takes a -3 penalty to attack rolls and a +6 bonus to damage rolls.
Raging Vitality-Whenever Egon is raging, the morale bonus to his Constitution increases by +2. His rage does not end if he becomes unconscious. While unconscious he must still expend rounds of rage per day each round.
Appearance:
Already halfway done with his prime years, Egon definitely doesn’t look like he has aged all that well living in the badlands. His skin is slightly tanned from the constant sun exposure, his head is completely bald, his brown eyes have bags under them and a slight tinge of crazy, and his beard, dark brunette in color, is large, shaggy and beyond unkept. He wears simple clothing, long worn down from years of usage, and dons the hide of some great megafauna he hunted years ago-so long, in fact, he forgot what exactly the animal was.
Background:
Born in beautiful Vigil, Egon Oreheart comes from a long line of dwarven adventurers and mercenaries who have battled all kinds of creatures, mostly dragons, giants and orcs. He entered the Crusader War College and passed with flying colors, where he was immediately sent towards Trunau to begin his training with his colleagues, including three humans and a half-elf woman named Dia Temavli, into becoming paladins.
Unfortunately, while leaving the recently formed Freedom Town to meet with their teacher, they were ambushed by orcs and giants; only Egon and Dia were alive, forced to hide away and plan escape routes to Trunau. For several days, as they wandered around carefully with their rations lowered, they ran afoul with an even larger group of giants; this time, Dia’s life was cut short as she gave a diversion so Egon could escape.
Rather than flee, though, the sight of his companion being brutally maimed by the giants caused him to snap, in which he hefted his earthbreaker and killed the giants by crippling their legs before dealing the fatal blow to the head. After burying his friend, he abandoned the idea of ever becoming a paladin, believing his rage would prevent him from gaining the clarity needed for such a path, and traveled into the wilderness, ambushing lone giants and small groups of orcs whenever he can.
Nowadays, he mostly sticks to the wilds of Belkzen, only returning to Freedom Town or Trunau to gain supplies; it is at this time he writes to his family and teachers back at Vigil, hoping they can have comfort knowing Egon is still alive in these harsh times of war.
Personality:
Living for almost a decade out in the wilds of Belkzen has changed Egon, though whether for better or worse is debatable. He is highly observant, always checking his surroundings, and remains in such a serious nature when traveling. However, when relaxing, he has a sort of eccentric nature, randomly making up poetry and songs on the fly, sprinkled with the rare bursts of philosophy. In short, Egon is serious when on foot, but once he can lower his guard, the craziness of living in the wilds comes to the forefront.
