About Edwin Levitt
Background:
Edwin grew up in Nisroch, Nidal after it had already fallen to Chellaxian rule. His father was a wordsmith at the port of Nisroch, making sure that each individual's papers checked out in order to preform trade in the country. His mother was a local public teacher who had taught Edwin and other children how to read and write and many of the general knowledge that some do not ever receive. They held themselves as a decent family.
That was on the outside, the marriage between Edwin's parents was difficult. His mother grew intrests in another student's father since her husband was working so often. His father knew full well of his wife's tendencies but never escalated them since he had believed nothing else was going on between them.
Edwin spent much of his childhood playing with other children or learning trade with his father. Sometimes Edwin was even invited to look at the insides of merchant ships with dad. He really enjoyed seeing all types of exotic things and had an interest in learning.
During his middle years he began to learn the value in listening and reading from people to discover things they did not want to be known, such as his mother's "secret" relations that he had now started to grasp. Granted he would never sell out his own mother the idea was still planted. He began to learn from people, share secrets and bargain deals for more knowledge. Sometimes he would spend entire days in the tavern talking it up with other people intricately pushing people to reveal new information.
Before long he had gathered so many stories of many amazing places that he yearned to leave home, though never having sufficient money for the excursion. He decided to work as a wordsmith much like his father for the town guard and save his money for a boat out of the port town. During this time he took a serious interest in self improvement body and mind learning as many trades as he could on the side.
Years passed and finally Edwin had gotten a sizable ammount of gold. Gathering all the money he could, he set sail north to the land of Varisia planning to set up a business of selling news on paper and revealing secrets behind doors for profit and scouring old places to learn their truths and share to the world. Perhaps he could even find love while out in new exotic lands but they would have to be able to keep up. At the moment though, there is word of a new church opening in Sandpoint since the old one burnt down, every bit of news has to start somewhere...
