Appearance:
Edrik is quite tall, owning a broad shouldered and athletic frame that is perhaps more lean than bulky. His skin complexion is pale, with hard dark blue eyes and jet black hair that all suggests some chelish heritage. His expression is generally somewhat grim and unforgiving, which makes him an imposing figure.
Having spent his early years in armor, Edrik is just as likely to be found wearing his long black Armored Coat. In general, Edrik prefers his clothing, armor and accessories be black as befits religious raiment of followers of Pharasma.
Physical Traits
Height: 6'2
Weight: 183 lbs
Hair: Jet Black
Eyes: Dark Blue
Though Edrik takes his work hunting undead and rooting out evil seriously, Edrik is not a humorless man. If Pharasma has taught him anything, it's that life is too short and should be enjoyed when possible. As such, Edrik enjoys some of the finer things in life, be it a pint of ale or the local theater.
When in pursuit of a quarry or hunting undead, however, Edrik pursues his aim with dogged determination, and can be difficult to dissuade.
Background:
Edrik was born to Bartholomew "Bart" and Leandra Nobel in the settlement of Marion Leigh. Bart Nobel was originally a Knight from Lastwall, who spent his early adulthood patrolling Virlych helping suppress the presence of undead in the region. He eventually suffered an injury whilst on patrol early on in his career, and had to retire from hunting undead in the haunted lands. Taking his wife Leandra with him, he resettled in Marion Leigh were and worked as a Blacksmith in the growing town.
In time, Leandra and Bart were blessed with a healthy young boy they named Edrik, and later two daughters Saleigh and Miranda. Growing up in the Nobel house, Edrik was regaled by tales of his fathers days serving Watcher Lord of Lastwall. A strong and healthy boy, Edrik would often pretend he was a knight by donning his fathers old armored jacket when his father was working. He cared little for work as a blacksmith, and decided instead to join follow his dream of becoming a Knight of Lastwall. Unbeknownst to his father, Edrik left home at the age of fifteen, and joined a caravan heading to Lastwall. Once he arrived, he enlisted in the service of the Watcher King, and was trained to hunt the walking dead as his father had some twenty years before him. His faith in Pharasma and his physical strength made him an ideal hunter of the walking dead, and he excelled in his duties.
A couple of years later, Edrik reconnected with his father who while angry at his son for leaving without his knowledge, was secretly proud of his son for following his dream. Eventually Edrik finally decided to return home after a time, having completed a number of years of service to the Watcher King. He trekked again by caravan, where he met a researcher named Professor Lorrimor. As the caravan traveled through Virlych, it came under attack by a group of undead. It was during this encounter that Edrik came to the rescue of Professor Lorrimor, who might surely have died by the hands of the walking dead during the ambush. The Professor took a liking to Edrik after the event, and even employed him on a few expeditions later. Though fond of the man, Edrik was surprised to find he had been named in Lorrimor's last will and testament, but has nevertheless made the journey out to Ravengro for the funeral.
