"I guess. There's nothing more we can find here."

Inactive

Edgard dashes to Eugene and Kyle, to find his friend lying motionless.
"Kyle!"

Fortunately, Joe dispelled whatever spell Kyle was put under, and he seems to be fine.

"What happened? You all right?"

Inactive

"Like Frankenstein? Ugh..."

Edgard then tells everyone what he found out.
"It headed north. Also, someone else was here recently, look," he points to the shoe-prints.

Inactive

Edgard joins the magician in his investigation. Are there any forest spirits nearby? If so, then he uses his Sight to ask them for help.

If there are no spirits, he'll use his magic to investigate - maybe the creature left some kind of magic tracks, or something like that.

Investigate the Mystery (The Sight): 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (4, 5) + 1 = 10
Where did the creature go? Is there anything being hidden here?

Inactive

Edgard puts away his phone.
"Nope, voicemail. Guess it's time to go get some sleep. I'll call you tomorrow morning."

In the morning, as soon as Edgard gets a text from Joe, he calls Kyle. "Get ready. We're going hiking. Meet me up at Joe's shop."

He takes a backpack with some stuff - a bit of food, some water, a flashlight, matches, all the things you usually take for a hike - and rides to "Deeper Mysteries".

Inactive

I think so. Also to answer my call, but we can say that I too hit his voicemail.

Inactive

Still here.

Inactive

Edgard chuckles and nods while on the phone.

Inactive

"Right now? Hm... wait a bit, I'm gonna call Joe."

Edgard comes near the window and calls the mage.

"Hey, it's Edgard again. Hope you're not sleeping yet. So, um... I kinda told my friend about our stuff - he was worrying about me. Can we meet? Hope you're not mad," he says in one breath.

Inactive

Edgard back away a little from the overenthusiastic and angry friend.

"Sorry, sorry, won't happen again. Just thought that it could prove my words faster."

"Well. I'm not really sure, since I haven't really used it that much. Curses? Hexes? See spiritual... things, i guess. It's not for free though, you know?"

Edgard stares in the windows, where tree branches sway from a light breeze.
"But let's leave sad stuff for later. Wanna take part in something cool? Sneak peek - it's connected with the "zombie" Tin Man wrote about. Since you're worrying so much, I think we should at least let you know what's happening."

Inactive

"So... Yeah. Something like this. Now you know "what's up". At least some part of it."

Edgard smiles faintly and spreads his hands.

Inactive

It won't be nice if I break anything... Or if it backfires.
Edgard muses whether to prove his words with some harmless trick or not. Well, here it goes.

"Yep, s$&+'s real. I wish it wasn't, but it is," Edgard sighs. "Here, I'll show you."

Edgard claps Kyle on his shoulder and imagines how he levitates for a couple of feet above the floor.

Use Magic: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 1) + 2 = 8 Effect - levitation (Do one thing that is beyond human limitations). Side effect - The effect is of short duration.

Inactive

"Already?" mutters Edgard and sighs, following his friend to his room.

"Weeell," he draws. "That's a bit of a story, to be honest. Remember that seance? It worked."

The youth rises his hand to show Kyle the black ring. "The call was answered, so to speak."

"Don't tell anyone, all right?"

Inactive

"Ok, I'll be at your place in five minutes."

Edgard hangs up and soon arrives at Kyle's place. He knocks and waits for answer.

So, since Kyle's an exchange student, he should be in some kind of dorms? If yes, then does he share the room with someone?

Inactive

While Edgard rides home, thinking about what happened, he remembers that he promised to give a call to Kyle. He taps his name in his address book.

"Hey, it's Edgard. Sooo... I'm free now and you wanted to talk, right? We can meet now, are you home?"

"It might've been the corruption," chimes in Edgard. "Whatever that thing is, the physical injury was not the only harm it did."

Zaitherin, what about my questions about the body? - Are muscles the only thing damaged - is there any kind of "soul" or "spirit" damage? Can the taint be traced?

Inactive

Seeing as Eugene attempt at douse the dead body failed, Edgard tries to do the same, and grabs anything he can fill with water and then throw it at the creature.

Act Under Pressure: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11

Ok Edgard, using the Sight you definitely see a supernatural taint on the body. Not only does he see something was taken from the body but also you see a palatable taint of corruption on the body as well. Something of pure corruption left its mark on this body.

You can also ask two questions concerning the body.

...Ignoring the pain for now, Joe says "Hold it down, we need to get the chalk off!"

Startled by the animated corpse, Edgard stumbles back throwing a ring hand forward in a "don't go near me" sort of way.

Hex (Use Magic): 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 3) + 2 = 8
Effect - The target immediately suffers harm (2-harm magic ignore-armour). Glitch - It has a problematic side effect.

Inactive

With Joe absorbed in whatever he's doing, Edgard's questions are left unanswered, so he tries to call for the spirit of the dead man. He closes his eyes and communes his feelings of searching for answers and desire to help to find the creature who did this. After that Edgard opens his eyes.

I'm using my Sight to investigate.
Investigate a Mystery: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (4, 6) + 1 = 11 That's Hold 2. I'll wait for GM.

Inactive

"Of course," Edgard assures Silver. "I plan to live for as long as possible."

He turned the black ring on his finger and added with a gloomy face.
"Well, considering the circumstances."

The young man then observes Joe's manipulations and asks.
"What's all this?"

Inactive

"Mister Silver?" Edgard called the man. "It's Edgard."

He waves his hand, but realizes he's invisible. "Joe, do we need to remain unseen the whole time?"

After walking back and forth in the room he asks with uncertainty in his voice.
"And where's the body? Should I try... my thing?"

He was about to put his phone away when he shrugged and sent one to Edgard: How close are you?

Edgard sends an answer - I'll be there soon. - and grabs his bike. Soon he arrives at the morgue, greeting Joe.

"Hey, I see it's becoming lively here."

It's a small town, right? I guess pretty much everything in about 10-20 minute ride?

Inactive

Sorry but I won't be able to post until Monday, at least - the part-time I took turned out to be quite time-consuming. But that's just for two more days. Three max.

Inactive

"Great. Well, I'll go home. Call me when everything's ready."

Edgard pick his belongings and nods to Joe, before exiting "Deeper Mysteries".

I guess I'll wait for the evening. A bit of studying, a bit of games - the usual.

Inactive

"I guess. Finch said to follow the victims... Don't know if I'll be of any help though - you know my powers are... flighty."

"By the way, he told me some stuff about this beast. Well, that is if you can believe his words," the youth sighs. "First - the more it kills, the stronger it becomes. Second - "without the means to unmake the creature it will not die", whatever that means."

Inactive

"As usual lately, I guess," Edgard shrugs. "Nothing special. Why are you asking?"

Inactive

"Finch," Edgard says with a grimace as if he ate something sour. "I am to play a game - catch some supernatural creature and amuse Unseelie Court."

He absent-mindedly turns his ring with his thumb before asking. "So, what I wanted to ask - do you anything about that?"

Inactive

Walking down the street to Joe's store Edgard can't stop thinking about what Finch said. "The more it kills, the stronger it becomes. Whatever this creature is." He sighs and shakes his head. "Let's do a seance, it's gonna be fun!"

Soon, he is in front of the "Deeper Mysteries" sign, that says OPEN. He pushes the door and the mild aroma of burnt incenses wraps him around.
"Do you really this stuff?" Edgard asks Joe. "Or it's just part of the image?"

Inactive

On his way to the store, Edgard dials Joe's number (either personal or work), to give him a heads up.
"Hey, Joe? It's Edgard. I'd like to drop by, have some things to discuss. You busy?"

"Dude. You've been standing there with blank look on your face for," he looks at his watch, "three minutes. You okay?" Then he lowers his voice and leans in. "Are you on something?" He leans back and holds up his hands in defense. "Not judging. Just, you know, concerned. You've been, uh, distant recently, ever since that seance. Was that a cover for something else? Is there a drug called Seance now? Cause that's just silly."

"What? That's crazy, dude!" Edgard denies indignantly. "I've never used. Just lost in thoughts, I guess. Some personal stuff, you know."

"Look, I promised a friend I'd check his PC and some other stuff," he makes an excuse. "Can we talk some time later? But definitely today. Probably late, but today."

Inactive

Making a deep breath Edgard looks around and sees Kyle waving in front of his face. Damn that Finch and his visions!
"Oh, hey Kyle, what's up?" Edgard starts slowly walking towards Joe's store. I could definitely use some help. I just have to lose Kyle somehow.

Well, even without the roll I wouldn't have refused. How else would we get in troubles?

Well the question you ask have to make sense. What is the best way into what exactly? What are you trying to get into? Otherwise chose something that makes sense for the situation.

"What’s my best way in?" - What's the best way to handle it? If not, then "Are there any dangers I haven’t noticed?"

Inactive

Read a Bad Situation: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (5, 3) + 1 = 9 Okay. So I hold 1 and get to ask a question from the Keeper. Hm... "What’s my best way in?"

Inactive

"Finch, I guess I should've used to your surprises," Edgard sighs and asks a rhetorical question. "Do I have a choice?"

@Edward: How about this: You came to me to learn to control your abilities, and I helped you, but didn't explain why. Secretly, I know that in a previous life, you were also an actual psychic, and you helped me when I needed it?

Well... I'm okay with that, if Zaitherin's okay with that too.

Ah, I missed part about study abroad. Spooky event... I'd put it about half a year ago.

Edgard Falk - Kyle White
Yeah, friends from before the college and the spooky event. And that leads to - "You’ve known each other some time, but since your powers manifested, you keep them at a distance emotionally."

We still communicate, but not as often or close as before.

Edgard Falk - Maxwell Silver
I'll go with #3 - Maxwell's mission went really bad - let's say a banshee went nuts - so Edgard asked a favor from Finch. Of course, someday he will deeply regret about that. But for now, a man's life is saved.

And now for my connection. "You used your powers on them one time. Decide if it was for selfish reasons or not, and tell them if they found out about it."

Maxwell had troubles with some work, or lost something, so Edgard helped him a bit with his magic. Of course it went awry and instead of help things got worse. Edgard thinks Maxwell probably don't know for sure that it was his doing, but the veteran has his suspicions.

Edgard Falk - Eugene 'The Tin Man' Caldwell
"They saw you use your powers for selfish or vindictive reasons. Ask them who the victim was, and then tell them what you did." - I'll add that to your "put you on the radar" connection. Who was the victim?

Edgard Falk - Joe Arden
"They taught you to control your powers, to the extent that you can control them at all." - That sounds right. After Edgard was contacted by Finch and understood what happened he went to Joe Arden - the local psychic - for advice.
