First Strike (edge)
Once per turn, Eddie gets a free Fighting attack against a single foe who moves adjacent to him. This automatically interrupts the opponent's action, and does not cost Eddie his action if he is on Hold or has not acted yet in that round.
Quick (edge)
Eddie's reflexes are surprisingly fast, and he knows how to keep cool under pressure. If dealt a 5 or lower in combat, the player may discard and draw again until they draw a card higher than 5.
Quick Draw (edge)
When drawing his weapon, Eddie takes no penalty on his attack that round, and if he must make an Agility roll to draw a weapon, that roll is made at +2.
Arrogant (major hindrance)
Eddie doesn't think he's the best--he knows he's the best.
Quirk (minor hindrance)
Almost regardless of the situation, Eddie will just not shut up, and is constantly telling half-true stories and horrible jokes.
Wanted (minor hindrance)
The last job back in Boston cut things a little too close, and the boss sent Eddie down to Washington to lay low until the police stop asking awkward questions.

Background:
Born in 1984 to a poor family in a working class suburb of Providence, Rhode Island, Edward Fitzgerald Doyle did not have a particularly easy time growing up. However, with supportive parents and his natural talents, the young Eddie did extremely well in school, excelling in both academic and athletic pursuits, and eventually attending Brown University on scholarship. While at university, Eddie joined the Navy ROTC, and after graduating in 2005, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.
In 2006, Eddie was deployed to Afghanistan and quickly proved himself to be an able and ambitious officer, as well as a ruthless fighter. However, in an attempt to root out a group of insurgents in an Afghan village in 2009, the newly-minted First Lieutenant Doyle decided to take the initiative and personally led his fire team from door to door, killing anything that moved. A handful of enemy fighters were found, but civilian casualties were extremely high, and Eddie was court-martialed and dishonorably discharged.
In the States, though, a few people had taken notice of the story for all the wrong reasons, and within a month of his return to New England, Eddie was gainfully employed as a contract killer for the Irish Mob. Over the next two decades, Eddie showed himself to be extremely good at his job, bringing in high-value targets for everyone from small-time bosses to a dirty Massachusetts senator (as if there's any other kind).
Despite his successes, everyone makes mistakes, and while earning his most recent paycheck (assassinating union boss "Big John" Lonnigan on behalf of a Boston city councilman), he nearly got himself pinched by one of the ever-growing number of honest cops. This spooked the councilman enough that he sent Eddie on a little "vacation" down to Washington to wait until things died down a bit. Now Eddie's stuck in a motel in his least-favorite city this side of Kabul, driving a rented Volkswagen, and with nothing but his stack of new wave albums for company.
Appearance:
Though middle-aged, Eddie is still tall and well-built, with craggy good looks and his graying blonde hair slicked back in a style straight out of the 1980s. Regardless of the situation, Eddie maintains a calm, amiable, slightly dull expression on his face, but a careful observer may notice that his smile never carries to his cold blue eyes.
With his fondness for khakis and preppy pink polo shirts, Eddie looks more like a high school football coach or an off-brand Kennedy than a highly skilled contract killer. Despite his age and size, he is quick and agile, moving with sharp, precise motions, always ready to use the pistol he keeps tucked into his waistband.
Age 45 Height 1.9 m Weight 89 kg

Personality:
Eddie maintains a friendly, nonthreatening facade most of the time, but this is merely to set people at ease--underneath it all, he is ruthless, intelligent, and probably has more than a few loose nuts and bolts rattling around upstairs. When part of any group, Eddie usually tries to keep people off-balance by keeping up a steady stream of commentary, usually in the form of terrible jokes and highly exaggerated (or entirely fictitious) tales of his exploits.
As a means of disguising his education and skill, Eddie often purposely adopts a broad working-class New England accent, and he enjoys seeing how close he can get to people seeing through his ruse (especially when introducing himself to strangers as "Matt Damon" or "Ted Kennedy").
Arrogant and narcissistic, Eddie takes any real or perceived slight extremely seriously, though he often tries to play it off with a humorous anecdote. Though he remains strictly professional while "at work" and is deserving of his reputation as a skilled operator, his inflated sense of self-worth has often gotten him into hot water during his "time off" between jobs.
