BACK STORY
Eagle was born in the forests of Churlwood to a human father and celestial, avian mother. He never knew either of them. They met when Eagle's bandit father got arrested for attempting to steal from a rich man's house. The man's wife was this celestial being. After his father had escaped from prison in a night, he walked up to the window, whistled, and that was that. The avian woman flew from the window and followed her exciting new bandit. His mother was a wandering spirit, and could not physically stay in one place, which is what originally drew her to the bandit. His father begged her to settle down in Churlwood after they had a child together, but she could not. It defied her very being. The disagreement tore them apart. She left, and left her child to his father. His father was so bitter about the split that he could not bare to look at his son. He left the baby alone in the forest and left. Eagle was picked up by a group of vigilantes that were hiding in the woods. He was raised by them. The group was a mismatched band of different races and professions. They all managed to set their differences aside for a single goal: to set society straight. They believed in swift justice, not the painfully slow processes of the judicial system. Political power was corrupt power. A government should earn their power, not have it handed to them by birthright or fixed elections. The group, they called themselves the Bluejays, specialized in creating order with chaos. It was this medley of misfits that Eagle grew up with, and he loved them. They called him Eagle because of the long brown feathers that grew out of his shoulders, and down his arms and back. Also for the talons that grew out of every finger. His sharp eyes made him a solid archer, thus making him an excellent hunter. He loved every one of them like family, but his closest friend was his wolf, Aura. Eagle found Aura lying down and near death in the woods as a young pup. He nursed her back to health, and gained the wolf's trust. One night, when the Bluejays were all sleeping, they woke to the pup's angry growling at Eagle's bedside. She alerted them of bandits that were sneaking up to the camp. The Bluejays would not have survived the night if it were not for the wolf. That's how she earned the name Aura, because of the protection that she provided. The two became and inseparable pair. For many criminals and politicians that cheated and lied and bought false justice, the last thing they saw was a tall, skinny archer with long brown hair, a human face with golden eyes, and taloned fingers. One hand on his bow, and the other hand on his grey wolf's nape. There would be a single nod shared between the archer and his wolf, and then the wolf would be released. This reputation earned him the name Wolfhand. Eagle Wolfhand became a well known name in the forest. As Eagle and Aura grew up together, they became closer, but more distant from the other Bluejays. The others in the group were either becoming lazy or just outright criminals. It seemed that Eagle was the only one left that actually held the core beliefs of the vigilante group. Also, Eagle was the only Sarenite in the group. The Great Warden spoke to him in a dream one night, and gave him a vision of slaying a great boar. This was a ritual of his followers. Eagle knew that he would not be slaying any Dire Boars with his group of lazy degenerates, so he decided that it was time to leave. He headed south, to look for a town that he could shake up a little. Before long he came across Galduria, but it was much too boring for Eagle and his wolf. He did however, catch wind of some unusual activity in Sandpoint. Murders and goblin trouble seemed a little too good to be true for a sleepy little fishing village, but Eagle decided to check it out anyway. When he got down to Sandpoint, he was a ball of energy and determined to be the unnamed hero of the town. However, the lack of energy from the town and his own inexperience at being alone wore on him. He soon fell into a rut of being the funny guy that everyone knew at the bar. He did learn a great deal from watching the goblins, however. He learned how to sort out the trash from treasure with quick glances. In his 70th year, the festival was coming around again. He did love the festival, it was the one thing that revived him, and made him feel like a vigilante again.
