Background:
E. Evelyn Long PhD, was on the slow path to success. He parlayed his decent board scores, solid field work, and a lauded (if dry) dissertation into a position at the University of Heath-Uxbridge, one of the 2nd tier - though respected - institutes of learning in Cedrana. As an Adjunct Professor of Cryptozoology and Antiquities who excelled at fieldwork, Long was often 'in the field' and wasn't expected to hold classes regularly - which suited Doc well. His academic work was excellent camouflage, covering his own occult work and freelance 'projects' under the guise of ethno-zoologic studies and field research. As long as he published regularly and brought back interesting artifacts for the University's benefit... the faculty was willing to overlook his feather-light teaching load.
