Background:
Born to poor parents, dedicated to a hermit-like order of monks at an early age, The temple consisted of cells burrowed into a seaside cliff. His earliest duties consisted of carrying food along the narrow goat trails criss-crossing the cliff. It was natural that Dyoming grew up looking to the sky and sea for beauty and inspiration. He liked the monks and monastery, yet somehow, he never quite fit in completely with the monk's unregulated life, the total surrender to circumstances of weather and events.

The cliff dwellers were fiercely independent and relied on themselves for their own protection. Their simple weapons were donated and cobbled together from whatever they could find. They provided Dyoming with basic arms training, using trees bending in the wind or water flowing over rocks as ideals for movement. Dyoming soon found an affinity for the quarterstaff, dagger, and less conventionally, the head of a broken pitchfork. The sling was a natural choice on the rocky slopes. It didn't interfere with climbing and ammunition was always at hand if dinner presented itself nearby.

As Dyoming aged, he began to look with longing outside the monastic community's bound. One of the elder brothers put it thusly, "Dyoming is not a bird to winter where it lives in summer. Some birds must fly far if they are to prosper."

Other traits:
Dyoming looks to nature, especially the wind and waves, as an example for life and combat. Therefore he looks to remain fluid and adaptable. He seldom makes promises or pledges. In combat he seeks to be the wind or stream flowing around the rock, but pushing it none-the-less. His long robes help emphasize the style and provide a source of distraction for his foes.

He still reveres Gozreh.

Dyoming seldom speaks, when he does it is usually in a hoarse stage-whisper. Dyoming is actually a rather plain young woman. When the monks set her on the road, they warned her to pretend to be a boy.
